They formed after they saw the 'pistols live i read in total guitar. Personally i think they're great (especially their ska/reggae type songs like rock the casbah)

They was good in there punk-days. Later they got more of a poprockband. The old stuff was better. :)

The newer stuff is good too, it's just different. Nothing wrong with taking influences from other genres, it worked great for them.

I like them muchly - and the lead singer was good looking too.

I found a really old vinyl of theres the other day in a second hand store, so i went to the bank to withdraw some money, got back, and teh fuckers had sold it to some dickweed. It was most heinous. :(

The Clash are great. 'London Calling' is good fun to play on bass. Their 'Combat Rock' album is beastly; 'Overpowered By Funk' is a such a cool song. :D

The Clash are possibly one of the best punk bands there ever was. The fact that they had a revolutionary message puts them miles ahead of the rest.

Besides playing on stage with a banner saying "Sten Guns in Knightbridge" is just A.

The Clash is the only band I call "punk" in the full ideological meaning of the word.

Sex Pistols?
Didn't Johnny Rotten throw a bunch of squatters out of one of his luxury apartments a few years ago? I believe the chief of police called him an outstanding citizen for that.

No the Sex Pistols played punk, but I don't think they were the spirit of the punk like The Clash were.

No.

But my best friend once thought that "Train In Vain" was a cover.
