Dear anyone who has recently made a SOAD thread:
The CD came out 5 months ago. What the fuck have you been doing? Hiding under a fairly large boulder? Spending time in a conclave where rock music is frowned upon by nuns with paddles used to destroy anyone who dares defy them despite it being your 11th birthday? Seriously though, what the fuck?

BYOB tries to be Mr. Bungle but fails miserably because it doesn't use the time changes and genre hops to make the song build, they just use it to make it complicated. I wasn't a fan of SOAD's most recent album (it had some ok songs). When I listen to SOAD, I want tight, simple, slightly silly, loud, metal. That's not what they gave me with Mezmerize. I can listen to other bands that have done what they did on Mezmerize so much better.

What's wrong with talking about albums/specific songs on albums that have been out for longer than a few weeks? Not everyone is able to rush into the store and buy the CD the day it comes out. Besides, not everyone gets sick of songs as easily as you do. I'm one of those people, on both cases.
Chill out and ignore the topics if you dont like them. Good idea, eh?

I think coke's point is that people are talking about SOAD more now then when Mezmerize first came out.

I only got into them recently. And I am getting a LITTLE bored of BYOB, but I'll probably like it again after... a few weeks of not listening to it?

As orange said, I just want to know why everyone is suddenly obsessed with BYOB. A few days (weeks?) ago there was nothing being said about System of a Down for a while, but all of a sudden BOOM! BYOB is widely loved and SOAD is being praised as the greatest band ever. It confuses me, that's all.

BYOB is overrated really. There are better songs on the album, and better songs they have done altogether.

BYOB is'nt anywere near their best song all of the self titled most of toxcity and most of steal this album is better then it.

The only thread i made about them was to inform everyone about their new album. Which by the way i am really excited for. But i see what you mean, BYOB has been on the radio for a while now (at least here) so why all the sudden attention?
