I'm almost certain that 24 is an American show. It stars Keifer Sutherland as a... CIA(?) agent that has 24 hours to save the day. In a very interesting move, each hour of the show is supposed to unfold in realtime, so the entire season follows the events of just one day. I've only seen a little bit, and then it was in Spanish, but it seems to be a very good show, except for a bad directoral decision where the middle four episodes of the second season feature Jack getting some sleep.
