Um, welcome to 6 years ago, ruroken.
And to clarify, 8 Mile is LOOSELY based on Eminem's life. Loosely.

Oh, calm DOWN! No one relevant insulted you, so don't get so bent out of shape.
You should pick up "The Eminem Show". In my opinion, it's even better than "The Marshall Mathers LP".
Also, you're following in my footsteps, young man! The first album that REALLY got me into rap was the "Marshall Mathers LP", and I was your age at the time! I listened to it constantly for months on end, because I thought it was a masterpiece. And I was right.
I'm glad you like it.

My teacher (the person who's burning them for me!) says they're all good. So, since I've actually heard most of The Eminem Show, I'm probably going to want the Slim Shady EP (or...LP?) first.
Also, I only get one CD a day...because he's burning like 30 kick ass CDs for me.
I got rid of that album like 3 years ago because I was like omg-I'm-so-fucking-punk. I also had another album of his, can't remember the title.
But now I think about it again, yeah it rocked. Gotta buy it again someday now I'm going through my pffft-being-punk-is-for-idiots fase.
I already got some of the old stuff back; DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince.

I like The marshall mather lp the best. But all 4 of his CD's are good.
His first albums was good but his last and final album Encore is probaly the best, with 8mile being the crap one.

Yeah! Except completely different!
And, y'know, talented.

Brad Nowell? From Sublime? I'm so sure.
Johnny, Brad Nowell was extremely talented. I'm not all into sublime by any stretch, but he was really an amazing blues guitarist on a few tracks that I've heard, and if nothing else he had original songwriting.
As for Eminem... I'm a fan. It's good stuff.

He was okay. Incredibly overrated, but some good songs. But yeah, overrated.
As far as songwriting, what annoys me most about him is how UNoriginal so many of his songs were. Yes, he had some moments of brilliance here and there, but so many songs were predictable.

I won't argue with that - there were definitely some predictable moments. But some great songs, as well. Plus he was really a great guitarist. Too bad you had to watch him play Sublime. It's like the John Mayer problem. I hate John Mayer, but he's an absolutely insane blues guitarist.

What I meant was that they have very similar rapping styles. My opinion is bias though. I hate emienem.

Incorrect is about the biggest understatement you could use for that.

I'd have to disagree on some points.
Sublime are like nirvana. Incredibly overated, but still incredibly good. Look at it this way. On a scale, both bands should probably be around a 70-80. And yet, people treat them like a full 100 just because the lead singer dies. That's pretty much what always happens. If your singer dies and you had halfway decent music, you get popular almost overnight.
Sublime however, I'd have to say was completely original. I don't think Brad has any place in this thread discussing eminem, since I don't find them alike at all, but I can say this. Brad was an amazing singer and an amazing guitarist. Eminem is an amazing rapper. Brad is not an amazing rapper, and Eminem is neither an amazing singer nor is a amazing guitarist. They both have their places, and should not be compared in the same subject.
Either way, I love all of Eminems singles that I've heard, but something inside of me won't let me buy his cd's. The Punk side of me is calling the Other side of me a pussy and says I could be spending that Thirteen dollars on some new Rancid Cd's.
