There is far to many good english bands out there to do a poll for.

The Selecter. But I wouldn't expect many people to recognize or like them.
Especially not the author of the thread.
This thread really doesn't deserve any answers though.

yeah my first reaction was that Franz Ferdinand is scottish as well.
British bands, can't say that the British scene is any good at all, at the moment. Although I saw Keane live and they were good.

10-14-2005, 06:01 AM
Iron Maiden. Stereophonics are ok, Keane are pretty good, Rooster are alright in a chill-out sort of way. But I gotta agree with Per, it's not looking so brilliant.
The Kaiser Chiefs are English, aren't they?
saska de o...
10-14-2005, 07:33 AM
english? now TAT
I like quite a few of them. Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, Blur, Kaiser Chiefs and ESPECIALLY Supergrass are all good British bands.
Fairly good / mediocre bands include Stereophonics (downloaded three of their albums), The Strokes, The Others, Keane (a couple of good songs), The Futureheads, Caesars, Coldplay The Duke Spirit and the Gorillaz (it is a British man behind that weird band).
Oasis are pretty boring in my opinion, but there a several good songs they have done. I also can't fucking stand Bloc Party - I do actually like a couple of songs by them, but I downloaded some other songs off their first album, and I really didn't like them at all.
I have mostly listed indie rock bands here, though.

I suppose Bloc Party are pretty good, I don't like many of the bands at the moment.
The Dead 60's also sound good, but this sudden surge of plain, boring, Indie-rock bands is actually quite annoying.

Yeah. Riot Radio is fucking awesome, and I might buy/download ther self titled album.
And I nearly forgot: MAXIMO PARK! Apply some pressure is awesome, and I must get their album!

My favourite UK band at the moment is probably Nine Black Alps, the rest of the modern day Uk music scene is kinda' un-original now. =/
If you want best band from ENGLAND then im going to have to say kaiser chiefs, but if its the uk then franz ferdinand.
Way to make me chuckle out loud. Good joke.
I would say Million Dead, but just like the band they got their name from they're Fucking Dead now.
There are far too many boring bland nme hyped bands in here, stop reading that shit and find some decent bands.

Yus, from Leeds.
Best British bands for me are Franz Ferdinand, Keane and Coldplay. I probably would've said Kaiser Cheifs if i'd been asked a few months ago, but i've gone off them lately.
Wait, are Muse British? If they are, they should be on my list too.

Holy shit, I just realized that 8 of the 10 posts in the first page of this thread are "hidden because X is on your ignore list." And I only have 3 people on my ignore list! And ALL THREE of them posted here. I think that merits a 1-star (terrible) rating of this thread from me.
It should be pretty easy to figure out who those 3 are.

No worries mate - I think it has only been recently released here. It's a fairly new album, and the song Riot Radio was released a good several weeks ago.
