Well i know three people who have it, including myself, however a also know a lot of people that just downloaded it. I'd rather have them getting big on stage than on the corprate label. I could care less on the albums sold, I mean it is important but so long as they regain their respect from the punk world, once lost by the watered down punk that is Original Prankster. Pretty Fly was truely funny and everyone liked it. Too bad they didn't make The Noose a single, that'd show who they really are.

Actually, it's really important that they sell albums because they're on a "corporate label." You have to beat the system from inside. You can't just work outside it and pretend the system doesn't exist and then expect it to collapse. By supporting bands like the Offspring by actually buying their shit, you're telling the "corporate labels" that you support this kind of music. "The punk world" doesn't mean shit.

yea it probably did, i mean there are so many people trying to get into the offspring and getting the greatest hits album is one of the better ways to do that really.

i think it might have something to do with josh freese drumming....people may have seen change as a bad thing, and splinter suffered from this..

The Greatest Hits Cd sold well in Finland, apparently, and I'm pretty sure it sold well everywhere else, too.

offspring aint the very best live but these songs were very memerable from when i saw them live: self esteem (mostly), cant get my head around you, hit that and all i want. the best band live i would say might very well be: grinspoon, unwritten law or 3 doors down (kryptonite). but the best ive seen live on a dvd has to be ACDC

ive never heard anything by those bands, so cant really compare, in my opinion offspring are the best band ive seen live, and ive seen quite a few big bands...

Are you on drugs? they were hits Beheaded/JLTW wern't hits. Anyways you can't single out two songs that you think are rubbish. The record is out, and selling well now stop moaning about songs that wern't on the record.

I don't care how much the band sells. As long as I have the cds I'm happy.. And I hope they never go huge again like they did with Americana. Because that would turn them into shit, like GReen Day

I don't think they ever go huge again, not with the Splinter album. They don't even want to be huge.

But obviously they uped the sales of the self-titled album...
Greatest Hits sold well because a lot of people who don't want to buy the actual albums for a couple of singles, can have mostly all the singles on one album.
It's also good as a birthday present, or coming up to Christmas, because you can give it to friends who have heard a couple of the songs on the radio, and show them some of the others, thus increasing their desire to go buy some more albums.

It didn't sell shit in my country. But then again, portuguese people in general have no music taste at all, so it wasn't any surprise.
