After coincidently listening to these two songs back to back has anyone else noticed a slight similarity between the main riffs in these songs? It's pretty cool. If you get the 'Dammit, I Changed Again' riff in your head and then with that in mind listen to Amazed from Ixnay (from the 18-30 second mark into the song) you'll notice the similarity. 'Dammit, I Changed Again' is my favourite song by a long way but Amazed has certainly improved in my estimations for this reason.
Also, is it just me or does the sound clip at the end of 'the making of Splinter' CGMHAY clip sound like a slowed down version of Dammit, I Changed Again? A few people I noticed seemed to think it was a clip from "Pass Me By"

Yeah I totally agree, but for me that's something that I like because it really characterises what you would class as the definitive Offspring style.

Not really, but has anyone else noticed the similarities of "Dammit, I Changed Again," and American Hi-Fi's "Flavor of the Week"? Both are kick-ass songs, might I add.

And Too Much Drama by The Vandals and Walla Walla have the exact same structure and chorus.

I think it was actually just that the Offspring wanted to do a song for the Rock Against Bush compilation, so they just swapped 'Tehran' for 'Baghdad.'

No, they released it on an EP in 1991. They also swapped "Iran" for "Iraq"

Gah, sorry then...I thought I heard that before, but I always just assumed that it was because of Rock Against Bush...that's what PLyrics lists it as. "Baghdad [from "Rock Against Bush Vol. 1" Compilation]." I guess it would be mostly because not many people (like me, for one) don't know about it being on the EP.

yea sum 41 used a similar riff in their song Still waiting, and i doubt its just a coincidence as the offspring are one of sum 41's big influences. i notice similarities between a lot of offspring songs, like long way home and cant repeat and leave it behind and nothing from something
