I was at home. I'd just got back from school, and my brother said "some aeroplanes hit the twin towers." I thought he was talking about that football stadium thing [whose destruction or something had been in the news around that time]. So I thought it was pretty funny.

was on a trip with class, the teacher got a call on her cellphone from a friend and she freaked the hell out on the spot. THAT was a funny sight. The news, however, weren't.

i was at school. i was in a different borough and i could see the smoke. my mom brought me home, where we watched the news repeat the same 30 seconds over for the next 5 hours.

I would be goin nuts if I was in New York though..no doubt.

i was doing science in fifth grade. they brought us into the computer room and we watched it happen live on CNN. I remember watching the second plane hit. And i remember the news people talking about an aircraft approaching the pentagon. I didn't know what as going on really at the time, well no i did, but i had no idea of how big it was. I had never before seen anything of that magnitude.

I was in math class, when all of a sudden, 5 kids in a row were called home by their parents. No one knew what was going on. Next period, my friend looked up what had happened on the internet. The AOL homepage had a picture of one tower, and a cloud of smoke next to it. I went home at about lunchtime, and watched TV for the rest of the day.

There was apparently also a bomb threat on my school the same day, which turned out to be fake.

10th grade american history class. my teacher told us, even though he wasn't supposed to. someone came in and said what they had seen on tv when they walked past the teacher's lounge. a lot of kids went home early, cause their parents worked there. i went home early cause there were threats at my school...could see the smoke coming from the towers on the ride home from school. spent the rest of the night trying to get in touch with people, and finding out about people's parents that died.

sidenote on 9/11: a bunch of the hijackers lived in my town for a period of time...and stayed at a motel that my exboyfriend stayed at (though, not at the same time). some of them used the computers at the university i attend now to communicate and plan things. yup.

It was just after lunch, our French teacher walked in and told us. I was the only one really shocked, most other people laughed. And then the teacher yelled at us all and told us to get out of his class.

hahahaha. *covers mouth with both hands* oh sowwy. but, hahahaha!

I was sitting in my parents' livingroom. they were on the road, I was home alone, had nothing to do, so I was watching some tv. suddenly all the channels started broadcasting the disaster (well obviously, because in those days I hardly ever watched the news voluntarily) & I grabbed for the phone to call up my parents. when I reached them, they were like; "Isabel.. are you sure?" pff, talking to me like I was insane & seeing things. then they said; "have you been drinking?"

they didn't actually say that last sentence, but it would've been funny.

either way, we were rather shocked, because we have family & friends there. the weird thing was, while watching television, the second I saw what was happening & started realising it was real, I still couldn't entirely wrap my head around it. I wasn't shocked, I wasn't scared, I was just.. stunned, or something. in a daze, I sarcastically mumbled out loud "God bless America."
