Does anyone know something more about this release? I read in an old interview that the tape contains 4 songs (two of which are on "They Were Born To Kill" 7"... I guess). Anyone knows which are the other two tracks?
If someone of the band is reading this thread - answer! :) I want info from a reliable source.

Well, have you ever heard any song from that cassette? Yes, you did - the two on They Were Born to Kill... But none of us ever heard the other two (Tehran and Crossroads) And why? Because the cassette is so rare that even after 20 years after its release it didn't leak the internet. We're waiting for those songs for more than 2 years (see when was this thread started) and no one ever gave us the mp3's. The mp3's from I'll Be Waiting/Blackball 7'' and Baghdad are already on net for ages, even though the former is kinda rare, but no one ever heard the two songs from the A-side of this cassette. That's why it's absofuckinglutely worth the money. Enough said...

I found that actually when I looked through the forums before bidding. It was linked up to the old Offspring Bootlegs, so I couldn't see whether it was from the cassette or not, but from the comments I think Iran was a bootleg from a gig, just labelled as a demo. Even if it was, for Crossroads (the superior of the two) I couldn't find a suggestion it's ever been uploaded. Besides, I'm bidding because it's a rareity, and also because the exchange rate at the moment renders the cassette half as expensive at my end!

$5 shipping to the UK is also very reasonable, so I kid myself there's also a philanthropic motive to make this justifiable.

It can save files as WAVE/MP2/MP3/OGG/FLAC as far as I know.

All you need is to find a directory containing LAME library, then you can save files as MP3.

ripping cassette to mp3 is more or less the same as vinyl to mp3. because its not the cassette deck or turntable i connect to the computer (its the hi-fi's amp), the computer doesnt really know/care where the sound is coming from, it just records whatever would be heard of you connected speakers (to the amp) instead of a computer peripheral.

But the way your music equipment is connected to the computer has some significance.yeah, the computer doesnt recognize it, but its not just because of the line-in thing. you plug your amp into something then into the computer which is all. it just depends what is plugged into your amp at the other side (cassette deck, turntable, electric kazoo), which wont have any affect on its ability to be recorded. if it can go through the amp and out through speakers, you can record it onto your pc without too much annoyance.
