Most Anticipated Albums Of 2006

Did anyone read the new AP?

The Offspring are in the list of Most Anticipated Albums of 2006. Among them are crap bands like The Used, My Chemical Romance, n' such. There's also a few more good bands on the list as well, such as Tiger Army. AFI isn't there, because they are in a separate list of the bands in the Most Anticipated Albums of 2005, but have yet to release their respective albums, and it gives an update on why they're delayed and such. Just wondered if anyone read it, though. The Offspring are there. The article said they're half done with the writing process and hope to be in the studio early next year with a summer 2006 release.

No. What I mean is that they won't release the new CD in the middle of the summer, let's say in July. I believe it would make no sense.

i thought it was around spring time that it would be released....(april/may)???

If they hit the studio in January though, they'd probably be done recording by May at the earliest, so a mid summer release seems feasible. I don't see how you'd think that it would make no sense. Plus, I should add, that they have RECORDED other songs they've written when they were in the studio with Jerry Finn while recording Can't Repeat, and they say it's possible for some of those songs to make the cut for the next album.

Oh, I'm not saying the CD won't be finished. Bands just don't usually release albums during the summer because they sell less. That's what I've heard and it makes sense. Actually, just before Christmas is probably the best time to release a CD. =P

Anyway, it's only a prediction. It wouldn't surprise me if it is released in October-November.

I've come to terms with something. If it's a band I like, it usually takes them FOREVER to come out with a new album. Bands that suck usually come out with two new albums before any band I like comes out with the next one. For example, AFI's Sing The Sorrow and The Used's first cd came out around the same time, right? Two years later, The Used comes out with another album, and AFI still haven't yet. (but it was supposed to come out in Spring 05 grrrrrrr) Now, AFI are finally going to be releasing their new album in a couple of months, and The Used are already planning on putting another album out in the same year. It actually won't come out until after AFI's new album, so bad analogy, but still. Other bands have done it. It bugs me when bands I hate keep spitting out albums year after year when bands I enjoy take forever to put out new material. Though I guess it's worth it in the end.

If they're actually planning on releasing it in the summer, That means June-August I think. Kinda sucks, because I was thinking that it would be out in the spring. I mean, Dexter said he had a few songs written Last summer during the warped tour. Now it's winter, and they still only have Half of the record written?

Noodles said a couple months ago that they will try to head for a spring 2006 release. Now it's said summer. Well, Splinter was postponed a million times, so go figure. I bet it won't come on summer though, would be stupid to release a new studio album at that time. Offspring's usually done that at spring or fall, and this time it will be the same I guess. So I think a fall 2006 release can be expected most likely.

The reason AFI isn't there is because their new album was supposed to come out Spring 2005, and they were on last year's list of AP's most anticipated albums. Before listing the 2006 list, they had a list of all the bands that were on last year's list who have yet to come out with their albums, AFI being one of them. They gave an update on how each band is coming along on these albums and possible release dates. It said AFI is still recording their follow-up to 2003's Sing The Sorrow, and hope to expect a late winter/early spring 2006 release. In multiple interviews, though, AFI has always said February. So hopefully we can hear the first single within the next month! Woo! :D

yeah. I'm pumped. Hopefully we'll hear some new AFI within the next month. Jade said in one of their myspace blogs that they hope to release the first song "within the next month or two." Eek. :)

i'm actually more excited about their album than The Offspring's new one. I still want new Offspring music, but I'm more excited for AFI.

When I was at FYE yesterday, I was reading AP. And um...The Casualties are releasing another album. I hate them with a burnin' passion, so I hope it flops majorly. They're so fucking lame. The basic theme of most of their songs is "LOL WE'RE SO PUNK!" Moronic lyrics about being a punk are worse than Good Charlotte's fake gothic lyrics about death.

AFI's new album should have been on there. That's something I'd definately buy. Also, the new Anti-Flag album. About two months ago, though, I would have thrown up after reading that.
