I'm looking to improve my slap bass technique and I wondered if anyone knew any good bands/songs I can learn. Thanks.
PS. Not Les Claypool.
I'm no bassist, so I can only (unimaginatively) suggest the Chili Peppers.

Flea uses combined slap. And he's dull anyway.
Well there's my suggestion discredited :(

Though I have to admit it's fun to play RHCP songs in slap, even when they're not on the album. By The Way is so funky in slap.
Download Count Zero by Stu Hamm - that has a very slap-bassy bass riff going on in the background.
Other than that, I can't think of much more.
Well there's Prim...
Infectious Grooves and (later) Suicidal Tendencies. Robert Trujillo pre-Metallica. He's real good and I'm pretty sure he plays some slap at least occasionally (they're real funky). Early Mr. Bungle (their first album) was very funk-metally and ska-y and Trevor Dunn plays a bit of slap here and there I think. Check out "Squeeze me Macaroni".

Ha, as soon as I read the topic I was all ready to click and say Primus. Dang. Other than that.... Stu Hamm is good. Maybe Jaco? I don't listen to much slappy/funky music other than Primus.

You could try some Stu(stuart) Hamm like others sugested but I have no clue at what level in terms of difficulty his music is. The same thing goes for Victor Wooten and Jonas Hellborg.
I'm sure I know a few more bands but I can't think of them atm.
I've only heard like 1-2 things with Victor Wooten playing but he's probably worth checking out as he's obviously incredibly talented.

Some early Incubus has some really good slap bass.

I don't know a lot about bass...infact I know nothing but in the song
Buck Rogers by Feeder the bassist looks as if he is slapping the strings...
I don't know if he is or not because really , as I said before, I know nothing about bass..
Well, hope this helps a little :p
