I was in Alanya on vacation and it was the best time of my life. Here a little collection of pictures, BBS-sized.

Since I doubt anyone is interested in a huge trip report I'll just name a few things so you'll understand what you're seeing in the pictures:

Turkey, peninsula, many parks by the beach, jeep safari, water battles, village with 300 ppl somewhere in the mountains, moschee, wild pepper growing everywhere, "natural picnic", very old castle, cleopatra beach, pirate cave, dripstone cave, 30°C at 8am.

This guy was on the train, eyebrows as grey as a Birmingham morning, but his stupidly overly combed-over hair was the most ginger of ginger. Of course he had to sit opposite me. It's quite painful resisting the urge to laugh for a full fourty minutes.

by the way, what kind of camera did you use? the colours came out beefuckingootiful. it looks profi & you've obviously got an eye for this shizzle, because you chose fantastic scenes/angles to photograph.

This was Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park on Vancouver Island. It's an old growth forest - rainforest-type climate.

Not the huge trees where you can fit like, 19 people around or whatever, but pretty big.

Oh noez, everything looks perfect. It's just that "strap" that is placed very high.

And, I've seen something similar on a fairly tall girl. She had a "strap" right under the breasts...

I think everyone agrees the high waistline is from earlier days, going as far back as the 30s. but when looking more closely into it, it's not so much the women who wore high waistlines, better yet, they had more bumblebee-like waistlines. it's the little girls.

my roommate & I once looked into it for one of her schoolprojects. we recognised the style with high waistlines from old photos & images, but we just couldn't find women dressed like that. untill we found a very old kid's clothes magazine with patterns.

my mother hates it too & says it makes you look pregnant. most people I know say it does. but hey, I live in Amsterdam & Amsterdam is fashionable & every young woman I know will wear it anyway. it's practical in ways for female students. with everyone wearing those things, there's really no way to tell WHO has a beerbelly underneath.

I have a dress like the one Sunny wears in the picture, though it's black. I bought it with that roommate I talked about earlier in this post. it's too big, though, & the waistline always ends up being around my waist anyway, when it should be right beneath my boobs. now *that* makes it unflattering.

Edit; I just realised what I said is not quite true. so that's edited.
by the way, I like the fact there's finally a trend in female fashion that doesn't require perfect curves. love, actually. there's something natural about it & it's nice not having to wear tight stuff all the time. & especially now I've been sick, I've lost weight again, so it's not like I have anything to hide, but I hate those trends that kind of force you to show exactly what your body would look like without clothes.

My camera is a Canon PowerShot A610. My parents got it for me as a graduation gift and it takes really great photos. It has a setting called "My Colors" and it actually really enhances the colours of scenery. I likely used that for the water.

same. i loooove flowy, comfortable stuff that just kinda... drapes on you. i don't have a problem with my body (like, omg, must hide "problem areas") but i'm not really into super body-hugging outfits. except for jeans sometimes, i don't mind them being tight on my butt. cuz my butt... yeah. ;D super tight dresses though... ya, no. flowy stuff still shows your shape... just not all the time and doesn't make it too obvious.

i *should* get a nice structured dress sometime though. just to see if i could rock it.

Stupid question no doubt but did you use the Vélib? Coz basically - I know you're Dutch and I feel like a dork for telling you that... my apologies - it's a rather newish concept in Paris to let ppl rent bikes... In Lyon it dates back to some years but in Paris it's recent and the bloke who implemented that - I forget his name - has really made a mint.

Anyway, I see you enjoyed Paris, I'm glad you had a good time there - makes me a tad jealous, with luck I'll be able to go back there soon to work and live...

yes, Vélib all the way. it's ideal, because you're relatively fast in traffic, you can easily park it anywhere & if you'd travel by metro, you're underground, not seeing a whole lot. I'm aware it's very new in Paris. Parisians use them aswell, not just the tourists. I quite like that.

we used to have a system like that in Amsterdam, but it didn't really work. the point of it was, that white bikes would freely circulate & that everyone could take one whenever they needed one, to park it anywhere they wanted when they didn't need it anymore, so the next one could grab & use it.

of course after a week, none of the bikes were white anymore & all of them had chains locked around the wheels.

LOL, HAU. First, you'd need to know what we're called. Second, we'd need an album out. There's an EP out there, but it was made super quick and on a tiny tiny budget. The album coming up is EPIC. There's plenty of MP3's out there and we'll never make any money off that EP, so eat it k? Also, major LOLs at the idea that anyone would care enough to have our EP on a torrent site. We're on iLike and Reverb Nation if you have Facebook, and the EP is available on iTunes so you can hear snippets. But we don't play like half those songs anymore.
