They really don't use many special effects. They use distortion mainly off their amps, but I think they also use the Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer Overdrive.

When I tried to play "Change the World" intro;
The distortion effects they use are quite misty.
The intro is starting with A4 and F#4.But when I do that, the sound gets to muddle and understandable. If I low down the presence, it won't sound powerful enough like Dexter does…
But yet more, I think they got some really nice chorus and reverb effects.
