It's a great song, but I understand that it's not one of theirs? Can someone tell me who sings it?

Yes, indeed. It is a 1960s R&B/Soul song, by the singer, Ben E. King. It's very nice.

Thanks a lot. Do you knwo where I could find the guitar tab?

No problem. Uh, the original song doesn't really have any guitar in it, except the bass part, so I doubt there's a tab for it. You could try, though. How about ultimate-guitar.com (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com).

FYI: It's actually Pennywise doing the cover of "Stand By Me" with Dexter as a guest vocalist, not The Offspring.

Haha, The Offspring writing "Stand By Me". Funny.

wow... I was just listening to the cover, and thought i'd check the boards, and somebody made this thread
Funny because i was going to ask (kinda off-topic)
Who do you guys think is better at guitar, Fletcher or Noodles?

Noodles easy. Fletcher isn't that great. His leads are kinda lame and over-ridden by rhythm guitar.

Fletcher's a fat ponytail-afficionado, and Noodles is a Jew with rad coke-bottle glasses.
Who do you think is the better guitarist?
Pssh. Fletcher's got nothin' on good ol' Drunken Goldstein.

Probably. Just about everyone ever has covered it.

Why has everyone covered it? What is it about this specific song?

Probably the same as all ska bands feeling the need to cover bad '80s synth-pop songs.
Speed up a classic catchy track that's in the public mindset, add a curse word to the chorus, and PUNK IT UP BABY! *sigh*
