Damn, why you stuck there for 12 hours? That place can be pretty damn boring, can you not venture out of the airport into town for a few hours?

Oh man, you should definitely get out into the city for dinner, London has some amazing food.
None of it native to the country, of course.

well, i had to go from gatwick airport to heathrow.. by bus. no one bothered to tell me it'd take an hour and a half with no traffic... and there was a ton of traffic, so it took way longer.
so i missed my last flight to nyc (next one isn't til 8 am), everything's closed, and i'm pretty miserable.
i also have a ton of luggage with me, so no trips to town. eeeeegh. :/

Can you not get to a near B&B or something rather than just staying at the airport all night?
National Express coach? They're never on time and super slow.
I'm around a 15 minute car drive away, but don't know my way around Heathrow at all.

They don't sell power converters at the airport?
F@ BANKZ
01-18-2007, 03:29 PM
well, at least you'll look back at this experience and laugh... Yeah, i really hate it when people say that in a crisis too.
They don't sell power converters at the airport?
(i screwed my quote up:()
I guess you'll need a power source anyway. Being uneducated in this area i dunno if they'd ave one in an airport.

Damn, if $35 is like £17.50... if there is nothing else you're going to have to buy at least you got enough money for some rip-off price airport food & drink....And maybe a power converter.
Sunny
01-18-2007, 03:42 PM

I could attempt to find a way to get parking there and visit for a few hours, or drive somewhere??. It could be awkward or go alright as I don't really know you.

I did that in Washington, I ran out of dollars, but needed a drink, so I echanged 5 euro, and got like 3 bucks, that's just not right. But hey, at least I got a drink.

Just buy one of them power converters! I know it'll be expensive, but it's better than being bored for another 9 hours.

That's a bad idea, she should save the money for something she actually needs, like food.
Singing or humming helps pass the time for a while, if you like to do that.

thats the london transport for you! they closed a huge section of a dual carriageway today just because bad winds blew over a tree and it fell onto the pavement (not even the road, although it is a safety issue i guess!). it was shut for ages though! it just takes the slightest thing to cause chaos and with the bad weather thats probably what delayed your bus!

christ. i can't even imagine that. i was ok healthwise and i still felt like death (horribly uncomfortable seats, no food, cold as fuck, etc).. so being stuck there while sick must've been hell.
