hey, any guitarists out there with any info would be cool.
I'm looking for a guitar amp that can compete (be heard) comfortably with a drummer for under 500 aussie dollars. I've so far looked at some behringer amps (V-TONE GMX 110, V-TONE GMX 210, V-TONE GMX 212, V-AMPIRE LX 112) but am still unsure. I have heard the behringer distortions don't sound that good, and that they have piss-weak clean volume.
I play offspring, blink and similar, so good distortion is obviously something i want.
Any other suggestions would be great. Just remember, as long as it's under 500 australian dollars, new or second hand.
ANY suggestions would be great!!!!!!!!

If you want distortion, you'll probably have to get a pedal, but I think there are some amps you can get with built-in distortion. I know I'm not much help, but at least I tried.

Get a Behringer, it's good for the money. And if you are worried about the sound, well don't be, either get a 30 watt, or a 60 watt and you'll be fine.

my little BC Rich amp (um, it came free with my old guitar...*coughs*) could be heard over a drummer. not terribly well though, so, um, don't hold me to that...

Hmmm, I don't think. Right now i'm jamming with my drummer with a little drive practice amp, and it ain't holding up.
Well, for now the behringer gmx212 and the lx 112 (both 2 x 60 watts) looks good.
I was thinking of possibly getting a 2nd hand randall. but its just a thought at this stage.
P.S. Some of my great grandmas inheritance is going towards this amp, so i better be happy with it!

what do you mean?
when we record, the drummer will be miced, and so will i. but when we jam/gig the drummer will probably be unmiced.
