I've been playing a lot of Super Mario All-Stars, and I thought this might be a fun thread.
My vote goes for Super Mario World.

Super Mario World without any doubt, at all.
I mean, I love most Mario games, but that game is flawless. Seriously, its all about the cape.
Super Mario Kart is extremely awesome aswel if we're counting Mario spin off games too. I still play it almost daily.
All together SNES ftw.

I'm dead serious, there are only two correct answers:

or:

Probably the latter.

Spinoffs don't count! Yes, I've just made that decision. Super Mario World wins, but Super Mario 64 might be an even better game.

I liked Mario Kart 64 better.
And I can't pick a favorite, but it might actually be MK64.

Mario 64 was awesome too, but I can't let myself place it on par with Mario World.
It might be because I played it mostly as a child, and it was one of the first games I beat, and it brings back nice memories and such, or because its just so fucking good.

I was hoping someone would say Mario Tennis.
Tough one. Hmm.. I'm gonna go with either Mario 2 or the Lost Levels. Kart was fun, very fun, but eventually it gets dull. Those two, M2 and LL, never got dull for me, ever. Especially 'cos Lost Levels was a fucker.
I was hoping someone would say Mario Tennis.
Mario's Tennis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario%27s_Tennis) is significantly different from Mario Tennis. Though it was never released outside of Japan or North America so you probably never heard of it. I was joking when I mentioned it as my favorite but I did enjoy playing it at the time.

Super Mario World or the old Super Mario for the NES. I used to play that one forever when I was little. And Super Mario World is just a fucking classic. Challenging, fun, and a decent storyline (as far as Mario games go).

I think it's funny that Super Mario Bros. 3 was like, the gold standard for awhile after it came out. Everyone justifiably thought that it would be absolutely impossible to top, but Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 kind of put part 3 out of the convo sometimes. The thing is, part 3 IS unbelievably good. It's just...gahhhh so amazing.
Super Mario Bros. 2 gets a lot of flack that it doesn't deserve. It's a cool game, but it just doesn't fit in with anything else at all. Still, it's good. The whole Doki Doki Panic thing is super interesting.

Yoshi's Cookie was a puzzle game... I'm talking about this game:

The characters fall from the sky, and you have to move the plates around to get rid of certain pairs and match up egg shells.
And in Mario 1... the fireballs were so stupid. And the stupid exploding ducks. I didn't really like the gameplay in that one as much. And the levels were much less interesting. Come on, the Space zone in mario 2 was so awesome, with the floating bubble level, and the levels with the green gel...
