Rather than creating another thread, I'm going to hijack this one.


I've been assigned to create a folk tale for my English class. I've written this, and before you accuse me of stealing material, I was only inspired by "Fast and bulbous" from "Pera".

Here it is:

“Counselor”

“Fast and bulbous” were the first words that I heard when I came to. Modern media makes the process of coming out of a KO seem magical and meaningful, your loved one whispering your name over your head, a dramatic dream suddenly ending with a flash of light… or two football players walking down the hospital’s hallway saying “Fast and bulbous”.

It was unapparent at the moment, but those three words- four syllables- would (drastically) change the course of my life. Small seashells would whisper “could this be the day” but for not one, but three wolves would dress at men and dance the night as if it were a giant disco-extravaganza.

It wasn’t so… there were very complicated instructions to follow.

Now, you might be thinking something along the lines of “Instructions are easy to follow”, but it is quite a feat- trying to decipher instructions that you don’t know.

There were three men. These men had nothing to do with the two men (fast and bulbous). These three men were dressed like Shakespeare. They were all holding what looked to me like suitcases made of cranberries. The three of them, in unison, opened their suitcases and revealed three pictures.

One picture was that of a dog holding a bouquet of roses. The second was a school of fish swimming in formation (in the shape of an apple). The third was a photo of my mother wearing nothing but a swimming buoy.

They asked me: “What am I?”

The only words that could come to mind were “Fast and bulbous”. I spoke them. I am happy.

Tantalizing displays of yellow and green people in all sorts of surreal positions suddenly danced around me. The people eventually gathered into the shape of a word.

“Carp”

Since that day, I haven’t ever taken a step outside of my personal circle, and I’ve yet to be beaten by gangsters.
