i think every body should share their best story from a concert they went to.
yesterday, i went to see social distortion, and every one was rockin out. then mike ness was like "you youngsters in the front, get up here" so i jumped the baricade and onto the stage, and it was me, my friend, one of his friends, and an 8 year old with a 2 foot tall mohawk. and he was like "i brought the kids up here to prove a point, because 20 years ago, when we were here, we would have been beaten down just for what we looked like" then when we were walking off the stage, i found a guitar pick and i was like sweet. but then today i was stupid enough to take it to school, and i lost it

Yeah! I saw Foreigner in the Meadow Lands with Bryan Adams; that was a kickass show! I totally copped this feel off this passed out broad when they were playing 'Urgent'. Every time I hear 'Urgent' on the radio I think of that girl's boobs and... covered in vomit.

The only concert I ever went to was some fucking crappy pop singer I can't even remember the name of, but I loved his stuff back then and so did my parents. So they took me there with them. I had to go for a piss something like four times during the show.

Oh, and Ricky : *makes a gun-gesture with hand* BANG!

When I seen The Offspring they had Rufio as support (Splinter tour), anyway, I didn't really like them to start with, and then I was hit with their live show.
The bassist and guitarist try to be showmen, but just look ridiculous.
One would hunch over a bit, and the other would run at him, roll over his back and land on his feet then go back to playing and trying to have this facial expression like "OMFG DID YOU SEE THAT SHIT!?".
Anyway, the bassist did it, and then his bass string broke and hit him right in the face, I fucking loved it. He bled.

Later that day I caught Noodles' guitar pick, which I still have.

When I seen Greenday, getting into the place was mad. Of the 5 of us there (In Dublin by the way, we all live in Belfast and had a bus there, and bus back after the gig plan) I was the only one with a ticket, a sitting ticket. Which was really fucking stupid looking back on it, but one of my friends had been told that an uncle of his was really good friends with one of the guys working at the venue.
Anyway, lots of wondering if we were totally screwed or not later, we found the guy, and he took us into some little out-door cabin/rape-hut. I wasn't sure if I was about to be beaten up for trying to scam, or what. But he then gave us all standing tickets and pit passes, the releif was excellent.

When we went to see the Pogues in December we showed up like an hour before the doors open...which as I'm sure most of you know, is like, really late in terms of hoping to get to the front. But we got there and there was like 30 people in the queu. We thought that there was like, no one coming.
Turns out this is common practice for a Pogues gig because apparantly people just stay in bars untill when the ticket says the doors open, then make their way there. It was just strange expecting this huge crowd, to find like nobody. But then everyone arrived and it was awesome.

Concert Story:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - A few weeks ago, best night ever.

Har Mar Superstar was the opener...If you've seen him, you'll know why the crowd booed the fuck out of him after every song. Ended up in nothing but his underwear.

Chilis were fucking insane. But so was the body odour happening in the mosh pit. Fucking hell.

Once I went to this concert and this band played songs, and then they left the stage after saying that if we told stories about concerts then we were fucking lame.

damnit.

Not really a concert story, more of an observation:

I went to see Less Than Jake and Dropkick Murphys (at the same gig). The interesting thing was the other people who were there. There was the Dropkick fans wearing leather with excessive amounts of studs and sporting a variety of mohicans. Then there were the LTJ fans, all of about 14 years of age and wearing branded LTJ hoodies. That made for some interesting mosh pits...

I was backstage at the Offspring / Megadeth / QotSA / AC/DC tour. I could see the grey in Noodles' hair, was close enough to steal Dave Mustaine's guitar and had a jolly good time sleeping through QotSA.

My borther threw a can of beer over his head and into the crowed of people, his friend went "oh you shouldn't have done that, bad luck, something's going to happen in a second" and my brother went "nothing's goin..." then a bag of chips from the crowed went all over me.

edit: I havn't been to many concerts as you might have guessed.

Only concerts I've ever been to were classical. Yep. And fantasticabulous, too. Yes, from as far back as I can remember. Last one was in open air, beneath the starry velvety canopy of the heavens, & the pianist was some 22 year-old wonder. Boy, how I fell in love. Frankly, given the shit I'm paddling in right now, if I could turn the clocks backwards this once I would. It was one magical moment, he played Beethov's Waldstein, Liszt's La Leggerieza, some Bach, Scriabin, Gershwin, and Moussorgski. His name was... Boris Gilburg if I recall right. 22 and already stooped from the study. But lovely in his black & white suit. I went to ask him a couple questions on his encores at the end of the concert & he spoke a little French. He seemed flustered & he kept looking at his fingers & blushing & fidgeting. Made the most delicious French mistakes. Was an angel overall.

The concert itself was in the garden of a basilique.

I had bought some Offspring buttons and put in my backpack and I had it on during the concert. One of the buttons ended up "stabbing" the guy back me.

I bet this was really fun to watch.

It made for some interesting pits, mainly with the little kids getting crushed and the Dropkick fans flying the bird at LTJ throughout their entire performance.

And on a side note girls are fucking lethal in pits, you'd think they'd be against getting involved, but instead they're there with their fists flying, crazy..

You'd think that most guys would be opposed to punching girls, but after they see one person doing it, they all join in. (in the pit)

I went to see the Offspring at a festival. I'm just hanging out there on my own and suddenly some guy wraps his arms around my waist. I'm like WTF and he's like "Are you from Vantaa? (city near Helsinki)" and I'm like, "Er no" and he's like "Oh sorry."

Later that night, a guy next to me vommits into his own collar, inside his jacket.

Finnish festivals for the motherfucking WIN!

I dunno though, I'd feel really bad for hitting a girl, even in a pit and even if she was lashing out, fists flying etc..

that happened to me when millencolin played in stockholm 2005. We had been outside the venue drinking beer all day, so i almost fainted after millencolin had played two songs. Then i puked in a beermug.
