At the beginning of my 10 hour night shift, I'm eating Nutella on bread, and experiencing the magical properties. I suddenly have the intense desire to answer phones and help people get their air conditioning fixed at 4AM. I want to hop and listen to happiness and talk about rainbows with small rabbits.
It is simply that good, though.

I agree wholeheartedly. To think that I only started eating it a year ago, despite being offered it far before them. Oh my god, anyone that hasn't had Nutella before better start eating some at this moment. Never wanted to answer phones, but I have hopped with rabbits and discussed rainbows. It's wonderful.

I thought this was about Gnutella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnutella) at first and was about to disagree with the topic. I've never actually had Nutella though. I guess I'll have to try it sometime.

I had it once, and it was okay. I liked it. I haven't ever had the urge to buy it, though. I'm not really sure what the huge overwhelming obsession is with it. To me, it's about as good as peanut butter, which I also enjoy.

Nutella is fucking awesome, indeed. But unfortunately for you Thibault, you'll never enjoy it as much as I do because it tastes sooo much better when you're on your period.
Oh and, I tried peanut butter. It tastes good somehow but I got sick of it a couple of days later. Plus, it's kind of salty and I don't like it on sweet things.
ilovellamas
05-29-2007, 10:16 AM
lol all food tastes better when you're on your period. Kinda makes me feel bad for guys. Except not.
There are different kindsa peanut butter, too. Some are particularly sweet and mixed with honey and other stuff. I like the more natural kinds that taste really peanuty and salty.

Speaking of both Peanut butter and chocolate spread.
Theres this weird stuff that combines them, I forgot what it's called, but its all swirly looking in the jar. It's nice too. But not as nice as either on their own.
And for peanut butter its all about smooth.
ilovellamas
05-29-2007, 10:21 AM
I've had that stuff. when I was a freshman, it was just getting popular... my friends called it "sex in a jar". I was never so huge on it, probably due to my love for salty/peanuty peanut butter.
And chunks ftw.

I know that all food tastes good when you're on period but nutella is kinda special for me. I used to call it my period food.
And I know that there are different kinds. I bought the one mixed with honey and it was still salty for my tastes. Most of the people must be agreeing with me because it's not very common in Turkey. It tastes pretty good when I mixed it with more honey but I didn't want to end up being fat.

NOTHING is as good as peanutbutter!
haha! I felt so bad I couldn't afford to send you the jar of peanut butter :( I don't know why I ever thought it was a good idea... it would've cost like 8 euros to mail, haha. Dumb. On occasion, though, I do really enjoy peanut butter, when it's crunchy and not sugary. :)
And Nutella? American? It's from Italy. :P And it's very unpopular in the US... way more common in Europe! My roommate was the only person I knew in the US who really enjoyed the stuff, and most people don't know about it (I didn't know about it until less than a year ago). And peanut butter is from Mexico. :)
This is what Wiki says about it:
In its home country of Italy, Nutella has become a cultural and social phenomenon. Many books have been written about it, and it is the core of a celebrated scene in the movie Bianca, by the Italian filmmaker Nanni Moretti, in which a character relieves his post-coital anxieties by eating from a gigantic Nutella jar.
Nutella is also very popular in the rest of Europe, Canada, in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Brazil, and South Africa, mostly with children and teenagers. This is less true in the United States, where the product was only available as an expensive import until the 2000s. In the United States, basketball star Kobe Bryant was a former spokesman for Nutella, having grown up in Italy. Nutella is briefly mentioned in Chloé Doutre-Roussel's "The Chocolate Connoisseur", which includes an anecdote of her mother flying into Mexico with several jars and smearing it on her face to convince a Customs Officer that it was a facial mask, and not a banned food product.
Oh, and to me, marshmallow fluff is sick. Ew. Like, I have trouble swallowing it without feeling like I'm gonna barf. haha.

This post sounds so faggy. Maybe it's just the use of "fluff". And then "eaten" regarding fluff. And that Ricky posted. hehe.
What kind of stuff are you supposed to use Nutella on? Why is everyone comparing it to peanut butter? It seems like it's supposed to be more of a snack/desert thing to me while peanut butter can actually be meal worthy in sandwich form.
I remember kind of liking marshmallow fluff plain when I was a kid but never really got it that often. There's not many things I can imagine it tasting good with. I've never liked fluffanutters, what else is there?

I like it without the raisins. The raisins are usually too sweet to go with the celery and PB. But I used to eat that a lot when I was a kid.
And peanut butter is quite unfatty if you get the kind that in very natural and is mostly just crushed nuts. I prefer something in between. I like it to spread well, but not taste like fat. Blech.
Uh, nuts are extremely fatty, Brianna. They also have many calories.
ilovellamas
05-30-2007, 09:06 AM
As for the fat aspect, in the nuts themselves, almost all the fat is unsaturated, so that is a very positive thing. Unsaturated fats are broken down very quickly and do not pose any problem, plus they lower blood cholesterol levels... The saturated fats in peanuts are very minimal, a max of a couple grams per serving. And who really eats multiple servings at once? haha. And for calories... there are about 150 calories in one serving, which is less than a tenth of most people's daily requirements. There are really so many healthy aspects to peanuts... tons of protein, fiber, vitamin E, various B vitamins, etc... I mean, of course it's unhealthy if you eat peanut butter every day, but as a substance in itself, it's got a lot of health benefits.
Sunny
05-30-2007, 09:18 AM
dude, nuts are really good for you. like, actually lower your cholesterol kinda good. higher fat content doesn't mean something is bad for you. lots of nutritionists recommend them as a part of your diet, because they have "good fat". like fish.
Keep in mind though, a serving of peanut butter is only 2 tablespoons, it's very easy to use more than that. In a single serving, you normally get:
170-200 calories (depending on the brand)
20-25% of your daily value of unsaturated fat
15% of your daily saturated fat
All from just two tablespoons. There's tons of proteins and vitamins in it though too so it's not like it's junkfood like the Nutella stuff is.

This is true. But like I said, you don't eat it every day... or at least I'd hope not. And 2 tablespoons is a lot! When I eat it, I usually use one, maybe 1.5 tbsp. And 200 calories still isn't that much if you don't eat tons of other food with lots of calories the rest of the day.
And unsaturated fat is generally a healthy thing.
