How many times have you witnessed this:

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d66/NickRaciti/02.jpg

Too much these days, are people ignoring obesity as a health risk, and addressing it as purely a cosmetic preference.

Such things are said as:
"obesity is a disease"
"Women are supposed to have curves"
"The media...(blah)"

Let's ban cable TV and grow more apples!

Apples aren't as effective as plastic surgery or suicide.

Fukkking hardcore!

Now that I've found out that you're drunk, I can finally take everything you've said to me seriously. I'm going to go hang upside down from a basketball hoop and slit my throat over a kiddie pool.

Actually, I think that will get more people to loose weight than telling them it's a health risk. People care more about how nice they look than how healthy they are.

Ma'am, you're at serious risk to have a heart attack. I'm surprised you haven't had one already.

or

Cindy, come to the gym with me so that gay guy will notice you.

The answer makes me cry.

The mistake people make when they use "loose" instead of "lose" always gets me. They're super similar in spelling, but they're such completely different words that I just never make that mistake. Meh.

Anyway, you're fat, noodlesfan. Worry about yourself before worrying about the people trying to support their friends' emotional stability.

When people say "loose weight", I imagine them pulling their stomachs out and dropping a layer of fat around their waist. It's hard to describe.

A fine example of the oppressed white race. Do you agree with my face? Karma is inside my pee-pee place.

uggggggggggh..

h8@people who are irresponsible with their bodies and don't respect the glory of what they're waltzing around in! the human body is so wonderful/beautiful/miraculous/everything and everyone should take care of theirs!!!
h8@people who h8@ skinny people. SOME of us WANT love handles but have an affinity for healthy food and exercise and just don't dig junk food. :[
h8@people who h8@ fat people all the time. I get it. you're not fat. get overrrrr it you're not supposed to be. it's like what chris rock says about dudes bragging about taking care of their kids. I take CARE of MY kids. I'm NOT fat. fat people breathing is annoying, but people iz people. most of us have a jolly fat person in our life who we absolutely adore and for them we need to provide sufficient player hater insurance.
and SO WHAT if magazines say curvez rule. fat chicks feel bad about themselves and eattttttttt the paiiin awayyyy. telling them curves are okay isn't counterproductive. at the end of the day if they find themselves losing weight cause they stopped hating themselves, they're not going to gorge to retain their luscious layne bryant bods.

sheeeeeyit.

People always taking being fat as a bad thing. You knowwhat pisses me off? When fat people are embarrassed to buy dieting books, because they think people wil laugh ta them. Well, noone's gonna laugh at them and it's not like a secret they're fat. If anything, those fat people should be happy they

they're trying to get in shape.
As for people who tell other people they're not fat? WHY? it's not like the other person doesn't know and there's no shame in it, as long as that person isn't sitting on their ass all day and engorging in a pint of triple chocolate fudge ice cream. Society today tries to give people the impression that if you're not skinny, you can't be happy or beautiful. The model world is getting skinnier and skinnier, by starving themselves. Some eat one apple a week.

Misery and hunger can leave you looking "bad" in a alot of other ways. I'd rather see a happy fat person who happy with their life, rather than a skinny, miserable person who is struggling to stay thin and is very hungry but refuses to eat. It's ok if people are skinny naturally, but if they're not they should deal with it and if they're happy with their lives and they way they look, they should keep doing what they do.

The models that keep getting thinner and thinner are getting so thin, that soon they're gonna look like dying people from concentration camps and not even have enough skin to get silicone implants.

Another thing I hate, is when skinny or fat people constantly complain by saying things like, "i'm too fat/skinny" etc. They should stop cmplaining to other people and fishing for compliments and get off theyr asses and try to do something about it, other than eating less or more and some will tell you they've tried everything or they have a eating disorder. They should either shut up and get over it or try harder.

Actually, I think that will get more people to loose weight than telling them it's a health risk. People care more about how nice they look than how healthy they are.

What I don't understand is why people go on crazy crash diets that don't work. No one has any worries about health anymore, The best way for someone to lose weight is to see your local doctor and see if they could perscribe a healthy diet for you. Also it is important for you to regularly exercise weither it is a long walk, a bike ride or just a walk on a tredmill in the comfort of your own home.

God, I love Laura so much. Everything she just said is on point, even though I'm guilty of hating on skinny people now and then (maybe cause I used to hate the fact that I'm so skinny but now I love it because it's such a part of my personality).

Along with what Skunkit said, I hate, hate it when skinny people feel the need to lecture every single fat person that they know about how fat they are. That whole "fat people disgust me" attitude pisses me off because it's just so arrogent and stupid. Yes, being overweight is unhealthy, but being in better shape than someone else doesn't make you a better person or give you the right to treat people like shit.

Plus, working out too much and all of that is just as unhealthy as being fat. I've always loved that fact.

JohnnyNemesis
06-01-2007, 01:25 PM
Not to mention that often times, working out religiously does come from a place of crippling insecurity. In my experience anyway.

Well, I feel bad about it.

I just don't like looking at obese people, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. I do feel rather bad about being fully aware of my distate for them and the knowledge that I'm likely to judge them prematurely. I'm sure a trupunx would tell me that society has shaped my view of beauty and that I'm stuck in the machine.
