Oh man finally! But.....je the is the new album going to contain 13 songs? It seems that they have already recorded a lot more...

They finished a couple of songs, they didn't record the new ones. We know that they have recorded 23 demos. We can expect 12-14 tracks, just like always.

well hey, I think its safe to say that the album will be released within a month, or at least a single will be released within a month. They guys are slated to play in Japan in August, and it would be a weird tour if they werent playing their new stuff.....Im expecting some morning to get in the car, turn on q101 and hear a new offspring song!..

Glad to know that the band is still alive and working, also that Dexter seems to be very happy with the work which the band has done so far.... but it doesn't look like the album is going to be released any time soon, probably well past September.

Some people are pretty hard to please. Next he'll post a fucking novel of a journal and people will start gettin' cranky because it wasnt part of a trilogy.

Also id be surprised if it was out in 07 atall. Usually you get way more info than we have now around 2-3 months before its due. For whatever reasons, record companys hardly put out new albums in December or January (dont anybody moan about this statement, its not totally correct, its just the NORM) ... Ixnay on the Hombre was supposed to be out in a september [or november?] of 96 but was pushed back to February because of some lame goingson. That was a fuckin mind numbing delay.

As for playing shows without putting out a new album? They may be taking a fresh approach for once, planned or otherwise. Social Distortion play songs for years before they even see a record. Helps the song mature and take shape or some shit. Hard to argue with their results.

That's usually true, but sometimes when you wait so long to release something, you start to come up with doubts about it and change things sometimes. That won't happen with The Offspring probably, but stuff like that happens all the time.

People are looking for a little time line or more insight into the album and it takes several seconds to type one or two more sentences. Let people air their frustrations because it's been a long four years.

Listen Slav, I was being civil and now you just pissed me off. That journal post was months ago and has no bearing on now. Friggin' freight train is cool, BUT it doesn't really give any ideas as to now and what is the current status of the album you photo whoring iron curtian climbing degenerate.

I understand where you're coming from. Whining does get annoying. My first post I was just being a smartass about "details man details!" but that stupid Slav decided to open his big mouth again and piss me off.

I think it's an honor to even get updates this way, but I just think that a little explanation of where you were coming from, like this, goes a long way to making yourself not sound like a bitch, which I'm guessing you really aren't.:cool:

I wish people could stop going on about the issue now, I know it's a difficult thing to have to wait for what you might see as 'content-less' journal updates, but it's been stated before. Nobody pays Dex to do this, jeez..

Just take it as it is, we've only another month for some potentially new developments, so just lean back and enjoy the melodies.
