Wasn't me. I ripped on Tool a lot, though.

I dunno if I've actually talked about APC here, but I've been of the opinion that APC is one of, if not the best, mainstream band of the 2000's.

10-09-2007, 09:14 PM
I'm surprised you think that. APC has always sounded mostly like a watered down version of Tool to me. I like APC quite a bit, but I've never liked them as much, because it sounds like Maynard just wanted to create music that was more accessible to the masses, so he started APC. I know that's not really how it happened, but that's the vibe I've always gotten.

AAE: Is DMB becoming one of your new favorite bands? I can upload some of their other stuff if you wish.
Not one of my favorites, per se, but they are one of the more prominent bands I listen to, especially with regards to bands with a multitude of albums. If you think there are any other albums of theirs worth having, I'd appreciate you uploading them.

I think APC just had a better hand at songwriting than Tool did. I don't want to start the same argument I've had a million times, but I've always felt that Tool sound directionless. I think APC always had a clear vision of what they were doing and why.

I know I reviewed them for the other thread, but it was by memory, and now I really want to hear them again.

I couldn't download all the shit at once because there's a limit connected to that site where non-members have to wait 90 minutes. Also, half of the songs on ETK didn't even work.

And, plus, also, I see that the Emergency & I you uploaded for me is missing two songs. What the fuck, then, is wrong with you?

Jakebert, I thought you used to rip on APC a lot? Maybe it wasn't you.

Anyway, here's part 1 of the mad caddies album for Thomas. http://www.savefile.com/files/1112370

I downloaded it, but my computer won't open that type of file for some reason. is there anyway you (or someone else) could send it not compressed or whatever it was please?

Sorry about that. =/

Just download winRAR. It's free. To upload it not in that file, I'd have to upload each song individually... and hell no. haha.

Oooh, you don't want Winrar. It's "free", meaning after a while you'll get a fucking pop up telling you to purchase the full version each time you open it. And that's really annoying. No, what you want, and need, is 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/).

Not true. I've never opened it. All you have to do is right click a .rar file and sellect unzip to *folder name* and it'll create a folder and everything. Or if you're putting stuff INTO a .rar file, just select them all, right click, "send to 'name'.rar ". It's really easy I've never opened it.

Yes, but what if you download a file? Like in this case? If you press Open, you'll open the program itself, and get that pop up. If you press Open folder, it'll take longer to extract it. But with 7-Zip, you can do all of that, minus the pop up! Win-win situation. Also, it's open source, which is good for unknown reasons.

I'm missing "You Are Invited" and "What Do You Want Me To Say" off E&I. These songs off E.T. Ketchup have not worked:

Percolator
Les Yper-Sound
The Noise of Carpet
Emperor Tomato Ketchup
Monstre Sacre
Motoroller Scalatron

Everything else worked OK.

If you're downloading a .zip file or a .rar file:

First, save the .rar or .zip to your computer, and find it. I'm using my desktop for this demonstration.

http://i23.tinypic.com/2dh6v7t.jpg
(it's a winace icon here for some reason even though I never use it. I should probably delete it, actually)

Next, right click it, and select "extract to 'name'". This creates a separate folder so that the files don't launch everywhere.
http://i24.tinypic.com/27x4010.jpg
(the arrow options are winace. I'm definitely deleting that program)

Once you do that, a window will popup showing you your progress, file by file (so song by song here), and total.
http://i23.tinypic.com/2a5z048.jpg

And then, ta-dah! You're done!

Eric B & Rakim - Paid in Full
Ice Cube - Amerikkka's Most Wanted

Also anything by a rap act called CunninLynguists. I'm not expecting too much from him/them, but recommendations and recommendations.

Mike, just out of curiosity (I don't need an upload, I already have it), but have you gotten Seven Swans? I know a lot of people tend to skip over it for some reason or another (probably cause it's his most outright religious album) but it's got some of his best stripped down songs on it, especially the opening track.
I will have sex with you if upload the greatest hits.

What if I download it from soulseek and upload it first?

Yeah, the stripped down stuff on Illinois isn't that hot compared to the more extravagant stuff. On Michigan it's kind of the other way around, the stripped down ones are a little better than they were on Illinois, but the extravagant ones aren't as good. I normally prefer his bigger stuff too, but some of the stuff on Seven Swans is beautiful (http://download.yousendit.com/3029E9E03F9A92A1).
I would have the same offer for you too. But I also would be extra grateful for saving me from disgusting sex with Brianna.

Jakebert

Personally, I like all of his stuff, regardless of style. I think he does a good job with almost everything he tries just because he's such a talented songwriter.

I do agree that the bigger stuff on Michigan is a tad weak when compared to the big stuff on Illinois. You can tell he's a tiny bit unsure of himself at that point.

Also, do you have "A Sun Came"? I wouldn't mind hearing it.

I disagree. With maybe 2 exceptions, the singles are the best songs on there and people have already heard those a bajillion times.

I only tried yours. But don't worry about fixing it, I found a good torrent for the album.

Edit: On another note, I'll take any A Wilhelm Scream uploads. Whichever albums, it doesn't matter.
