Wow, it's easy to see why people get us confused often.
That's basically what I did, but with Dear You and 24 Hour.
Eh, I might skip it in favor of Jets To Brazil, who I like a lot more. Thanks for uploading all their albums; Orange Rhyming Dictionary is holyshitholyshitholyshit.
Btw, have you ever heard The Lawrence Arms? They're kinda similar in a way and I've found myself really digging them lately.

I've been trying to tell people this for years.
Kind of a tangent, but since you guys are on the subject of Jawbreaker, one of the last times I was at the Khyber there was a poster on the wall promoting an upcoming show by a band called Jawfaker, a two-piece Jawbreaker cover band. I'm still trying to figure out (a) what the point of that is, and (b) how did a band like that manage to book the Khyber in the first place?

http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/dri900/i960/i96005w60jy.jpg
"It's just a life story/so there's no climax," from the rousing opener "Our Life Is Not a Movie or Maybe" sets the tone, and its floor tom gallop and volatile whoops sound like an unholy combination of My Aim Is True-era Elvis Costello and Transformer-era Lou Reed spilling out of an old player piano. Sheff has proven himself again and again to be a gifted wordsmith, and Stage Names features some of his finest parlor room romanticisms and slacker-poet observations to date.
Like, seriously, this cd is severely awesome. I think you will better yourself as a person by downloading it.

lol, cool. If you ever get the chance, ask why they didn't/couldn't get this album signed to a label outside of Russia; personally, I think it's their finest work, lyrically and musically, so it was really nice of them to self release it for free globally :D

Here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/0olw13
For those of you that haven't heard them yet, Subtle are kind of an experimental hip-hop band. Along with the more typical line-up for a group like this, they also have a full-time cello player and a member that plays various woodwinds. The two albums they have out so far are parts 1 and 2 of a yet to be completed trilogy of concept albums following the character "Hour Hero Yes", whose life is based heavily around the lead singer's, as well as some second person that he's never named. The music for their first album tended to be more on the mellow side and borders on ambient at times but still has a few heavier tracks here and there while the lyrics tended to be a bit more abstract. Before they recorded their second album, the band was in a tour bus accident which left one of the members seriously injured (who managed to fully recover) and another almost dead (who is now a quadriplegic), the resulting stress of which resulted in the music for the album being incredibly dark, heavy, bitter and really difficult to get into at first, while the lyrics are at least slightly more straight-forward than before. Everyone here should check them out. EVERYONE. This means you, specifically.
Subtle - A New White (http://www.sendspace.com/file/njpl07)
Subtle - For Hero: For Fool (http://download.yousendit.com/7F03B46A3B01D15B) This album has become one of my favorites ever since getting it.
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vq3ubr) Probably the best place to start with him. It was the first album of his I got.
Tom Waits - Bone Machine (http://www.sendspace.com/file/6bn6tz) Not the best place to start as it's probably the ugliest album he's put out, but it's awesome.

This is probably an apt thread to post this:
Does anyone know of a decent downloading tool that will resume broken downloads? My internet here is highly tempermental and cuts out frequently, cancelling my downloads in progress.
A link to a program/download would be awesome, thanks.
You mean like a p2p thing or just regular downloads from websites? Doesn't Firefox have the option of resuming downloads?
Here we go:
Armageddon
Bitch Please III
Bully
Bump Heads
Can A Bitch
The Conspiracy
FACK
Go To Sleep
Hellbound
If I Get Locked Up Tonight
Jacked Beats
The Kids
Lean Back Remix
Love You More
Monkey See Monkey Do
The Most Shady
My Ballz
My Name
Nail in the Coffin
Off The Wall
One Day At A Time
One Half The Watcher
Our House
The Realest Label
Renegade (Original Version)
Ricky Ticky Toc
Run Rabbit Run
The Sauce
Shake That
Stimulate
Stir Crazy
Warrior Part 2
We As Americans
What If I Was White?
When I'm Gone
Words are Weapons
8 Mile Road
8 More Miles
Since the link doesn't work anymore, can you tell me which songs on this list are the best? Like, absolute killer? I don't want to waste time downloading ones I don't want.
You mean like a p2p thing or just regular downloads from websites? Doesn't Firefox have the option of resuming downloads? It actually depends on the website you're downloading from which needs to support resuming download. Aside from that, the program you're downloading with needs to support it too. Firefox supports it, but I prefer Internet Download Manager when it comes to downloading of large files or downloading from very slow websites.

The Lawrence Arms - The Greatest Story Ever Told (http://www.sendspace.com/file/k5wwzk)
Though the Lawrence Arms' The Greatest Story Ever Told can't be expected to live up to its tongue-in-cheek title, the album is a surprisingly strong set of fresh pop punk that avoids the trappings and clichés of the genre. The sputtering, old-time sounding introduction makes for a unique entryway to the sparkling and grandiose (Sunny Day Real Estate-esque) "The Raw and Searing Flesh." "On With the Show" sounds like the Germs crossed with X, and "The March of the Elephants" thunders with an off-kilter, post-punk edge.

That's all I could find: Anti-Flag - Fuck The Pope (http://rapidshare.com/files/80069342/Anti-Flag_-_Fuck_The_Pope.mp3.html)
The quality sucks, but I don't know what the right one should be.
And, BTW, you're the first that replied to my request... Therefore I love you :p

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs: http://www.sendspace.com/file/vka5id
I uploaded it for someone else, but I figured I would post it here because it's oiuighsoshgsaod'ghsadfghasdg good.
http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/drf700/f744/f74476xcch3.jpg
=With its jarring rhythms and unusual instrumentation -- marimba, accordion, various percussion -- as well as its frequently surreal lyrics, Rain Dogs is very much a follow-up to Swordfishtrombones, which is to say that it sounds for the most part like The Threepenny Opera being sung by Howlin' Wolf. The chief musical difference is the introduction of guitarist Marc Ribot, who adds his noisy leads to the general cacophony. But Rain Dogs is sprawling where its predecessor had been focused: Tom Waits' lyrics here sometimes are imaginative to the point of obscurity, seemingly chosen to fit the rhythms rather than for sense.

Thanks! I loved Get Lonely (which you upped), and my friend recommended The Sunset Tree as a continuation.
ALSO:
Holy shit, I got the Juno soundtrack. I love this shit so much! It's basically a cd of mopey, unbelievably indie music. A lot of the songs are just Kimya Dawson (from The Moldy Peaches, who have a song on the soundtrack) playing acoustic guitar and singing. It's adorable and amazing:
If you want to kill yourself, remember that I love you
Call me up before you're dead, we can make some plans instead
Send me an IM, I'll be your friend.
There's a SCRABBLE REFERENCE IN THIS SONG SGKRFgdiugh etc.
Juno Soundtrack: http://www.mediafire.com/?bkmbrmnufkx
Get it for when you're feeling lonely!
EDIT: Holy shit, this gets better and better with each song.

Dude Tijs, thanks a zillion. I only had the opportunity to listen to it earlier today, but I enjoyed it. Shame they lost their major record label status (which is why I couldn't get it anywhere!), because the album deserved better. It's a really ballsy album, surprisingly poppish. Also a shame they've broken up.
fuck die i wwas going to download the juno soundtrack to be the highlite of my day and it WAS REMOVED DUE TO TOS VIOLATIONS FUCK THAT.

Does anyone have Food and Liquor by Lupe Fiasco?
Also, does anyone have any albums by GOOD female American singers? Never really had one before, but I think females are good at singing, at least better than guys anyway.
As an example, I like that girl singing in the song "The Way I Are". Like that style. You might not classify that as "good" but whatrv.

Yeah, that's where you heard it. They're a local independant band from the city my University is in. They're amazing... mention of them has influenced me to put them on. :)
I have that album, and 4 extra tracks (one of which is spoken word)... so I put those four on there, too. They're pretty damn good.
