I'm glad you liked the Notorious B.I.G. album I shared with you! I will try to get more rap/hip-hop to you soon.
For now, can I request the self-titled album from Saul Williams? I need it. Really need it. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Does anybody have the new Flogging Molly album-Float?
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4307/61vv2xkgollaa240kb5.jpg
Review:
What makes a band truly remarkable? Insightful lyrics? Memorable melodies? Blow-your mind live performances? The truth is that it takes all of those things along with a boundless enthusiasm, an infectious energy and a supreme devotion to the fans. With this rare combination, a band may ascend past "good," - and reach sublime. Drawing on the hardships and joys of their own lives and a musical history ranging from old world Celtic to modern day punk rock, the seven members of Flogging Molly do just that, and they do it with a charm and an ease that makes them one of the most revered bands performing today. Flogging Molly isn't a mere band, they're a seven member nuclear family. They are as devoted to one another as they are to the music they create. It's no wonder their extended family - the legion of loyal Flogging Molly fans - keeps growing every day.

Here one of my personal faves:
Leviathan by Mastodon (http://www.sendspace.com/file/fes8px)
We are now out of Remission and into 2004's highly anticipated follow-up, Leviathan, which again puzzles and will surely alienate one old fan for every two new admirers it gathers in its net. The naysayers will note that too many concessions were made on Leviathan in order to gain a wider audience, that the production is too polished and the vocals too melodic, and they are right. On Remission there was a claustrophobic paranoia, a suffocating heaviness like an elephant's heel pressing on someone's chest; its vocals were the raw hardcore screams of an anarchist drill sergeant. Leviathan digs out of the boot camp stampede and seeks out even heavier environs, going where few bands have gone before, straight down into the ocean. However, the studio polish of producer Matt Bayles that will be agonized by underground purists turns out to be just surface glare. Lurking beneath is an expansiveness more massive than anything found on the shores. The sound on Leviathan seems bottomless and infinite in the best possible way: it's not a dip in the pool; it's a headlong cliff dive into deep waters.
There are remarkable no-they-didn't, yes-they-did changes littering Leviathan like chum in shark territory. "Megalodon" moves from angular post-hardcore to chugging boogie thrash with deceptive ease, turning from one to the other with a Southern rawk guitar lick sure to have Duane Allman raise a bony hand in deathly devil-horned approval. It's not just that the sound is now "oceanic," either; metal has always had a tendency to rehash the same dark themes and few bands have the wherewithal to attempt to broaden that vision. Leviathan may not be an out and out concept album, but it's awfully close and thank god they didn't choose anything as cheesy as a blind kid playing pinball. Instead, Mastodon's chosen guide is Moby Dick, and a good portion of the lyrical themes on songs like "Blood and Thunder," "I Am Ahab," "Aqua Dementia," and "Seabeast" are based on Herman Melville's dystopian waters. It's a good fit with the music, too. Filtered through Melville's spyglass, the watery tales and creatures of Leviathan are even more paranoid and intense than the more terrestrial Remission. Those who choose to follow Mastodon into the sea will surely agree.
I saw Why? over the weekend and picked up a copy of Elephant Eyelash while I was there if anyone wants it.
As much as I like Why?, I have to say he's a really weak vocalist and after seeing him live, it came to my attention that he's also a pretty weak guitarist and bassist. I kind of want to see him start producing other people's work going forward instead of always doing his own vocals and stuff.

This is for Josh/everyone ever, it's one of my favorite cds:
Okkervil River - The Stage Names (http://www.sendspace.com/file/8t3dpl)
http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/dri900/i960/i96005w60jy.jpg
"It's just a life story/so there's no climax," from the rousing opener "Our Life Is Not a Movie or Maybe" sets the tone, and its floor tom gallop and volatile whoops sound like an unholy combination of My Aim Is True-era Elvis Costello and Transformer-era Lou Reed spilling out of an old player piano. Sheff has proven himself again and again to be a gifted wordsmith, and Stage Names features some of his finest parlor room romanticisms and slacker-poet observations to date.
It's amazingly cohesive and just really good.

I want to second that. Everyone that can possibly download that, do it now.

I've had that album for awhile, but unfortunately I do not have it on this computer (had it on my old one). So I second the request for the 3-disc set.

I plan on buying it around the end of the semester. I'm making it my gift to myself for finishing my first year of college as well as my gift to myself for finishing my pledge semester.
My internet went down before I was able to upload/download anything last night and I'm not sure when I'll be able to do it this weekend, so it might be a few days.
Also, I own the following albums but they're all scratched and I was wondering if anyone could upload copies of them:
Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante
Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Went Numb
Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
Silver Jews - American Life
I think there was another one or two I needed as well but I can't think of them right now.

Start with War. Then Achtung Baby. Then go all over the place. That's my suggestion.
Oh, and unless the song is "Lemon", avoid Zooropa like the plague. It will infuriate you. Then again, after listening to and enjoying the other albums, listening to Zooropa is likely to infuriate you even more (in the "what the fuck just happened?!" sene), so whatever, just do your thing.

Kristin Lagasse was born in Canada, and raised in a small town in Maine.
She fell in love with music at an early age, singing with her family and friends. She played violin for several years before her father gave her a guitar in Junior High, thus opening the doors to a life of creative freedom.
Following her music, she left Maine for California and Johnston College at the University of Redlands where she began to develop her own degree in Folk Songwriting and Performance.
Economic constraints pulled her from University but she continued to develop her own special style performing all across the country , then regularly in both Boston and San Francisco.
Kristin currently travels the east coast and Midwest developing a steady following with her strong, vibrant voice and honest, unique songwriting.
For anyone who likes singer/songwriter type music with a very powerful female voice, this is really, really good.
Seriously, download it. If you don't like it, you can always delete it. If you do like it, buy her album!

Review:
On Faith No More's major-label debut, Introduce Yourself, the Faith No More that you've grown to know and love finally rears it's ugly head (much more so than on their 1985 independent release We Care a Lot). All the ingredients are there, but like its predecessor there's one crucial item missing, super-vocalist Mike Patton. This would be original singer Chuck Mosley's last outing with the band, before he was ejected due to erratic and unpredictable behavior. Still, the album is consistent and interesting, with Mosley's out-of-tune vocals being an acquired taste to most. "The Crab Song" is one of their most underrated tracks, which packs quite a wallop when guitarist Jim Martin's heavily saturated guitar kicks in. The title track is an enjoyable and brief rant, and the loopy bass and irresistible melodicism of "Anne's Song" should have been a hit. There's also a slightly updated version of "We Care a Lot" included, and the resulting video gave the band their first taste of MTV success (but nothing compared to what they'd experience with their heavily rotated breakthrough "Epic"). A step in the right direction toward the deliciously twisted sound they'd achieve on later releases.

Review:
To essay a concise, surefooted summation of the Melvins' catalog would be reductive at best, and laughable at worst. This is, of course, underground rock's trio of pranksters -- unpredictable and capable of complete musical about-faces in the turn of a measure. That said, Houdini is about as close as one gets to a representative Melvins album, and it vividly captures the band's unreconstructed power, vision, and musical strangeness. During the early-'90s purge of hair rock and candy-footed funk metal, the Melvins, as with many other acts, seemed fair game for a major label in search of another post-Nirvana gold mine. With Kurt Cobain's assistance, the band was snatched up -- and summarily dropped (after three brilliant albums, this being the first) -- by Atlantic. Though Houdini's immediate predecessors, Eggnog and Bullhead, pried open a few screwball chasms in the Melvins' syrupy distillation of Sabbath riffage and Flipper's noisy anti-punk, it was this album that displayed the full fruition of the outfit's sonic breadth, from the cough-syrup river drag of "Night Goat" to the revved-up "Honey Bucket," and from the creepy "Joan of Arc" to the glue-damaged "Sky Pup." Ringleader King Buzzo's riffs are stretched -- taffy-like -- to meltdown, and at other times they are razor sharp. Either way, they abound with a lumbering, lurching power. With their voluminous output and determination to continuously expand their sound regardless of musical trends, the Melvins oeuvre has begun to rival -- at least on paper -- the career arcs of Frank Zappa and Neil Young.

Review:
Recorded following his near-fatal shooting in New York, and released while he was in prison, Me Against the World is the point where 2Pac really became a legendary figure. Having stared death in the face and survived, he was a changed man on record, displaying a new confessional bent and a consistent emotional depth. By and large, this isn't the sort of material that made him a gangsta icon; this is 2Pac the soul-baring artist, the foundation of the immense respect he commanded in the hip-hop community. It's his most thematically consistent, least-self-contradicting work, full of genuine reflection about how he's gotten where he is -- and dread of the consequences. Even the more combative tracks ("Me Against the World," "Fuck the World") acknowledge the high-risk life he's living, and pause to wonder how things ever went this far. He battles occasional self-loathing, is haunted by the friends he's already lost to violence, and can't escape the desperate paranoia that his own death isn't far in the future. These tracks -- most notably "So Many Tears," "Lord Knows," and "Death Around the Corner" -- are all the more powerful in hindsight with the chilling knowledge that he was right. Even romance takes on a new meaning as an escape from the hellish pressure of everyday life ("Temptations," "Can U Get Away"), and when that's not available, getting high or drunk is almost a necessity. He longs for the innocence of childhood ("Young Niggaz," "Old School"), and remembers how quickly it disappeared, yet he still pays loving, clear-eyed tribute to his drug-addicted mother on the touching "Dear Mama." Overall, Me Against the World paints a bleak, nihilistic picture, but there's such an honest, self-revealing quality to it that it can't help conveying a certain hope simply through its humanity. It's the best place to go to understand why 2Pac is so revered; it may not be his definitive album, but it just might be his best.

Review:
Maybe it was his time in prison, or maybe it was simply his signing with Suge Knight's Death Row label. Whatever the case, 2Pac re-emerged hardened and hungry with All Eyez on Me, the first double-disc album of original material in hip-hop history. With all the controversy surrounding him, 2Pac seemingly wanted to throw down a monumental epic whose sheer scope would make it an achievement of itself. But more than that, it's also an unabashed embrace of the gangsta lifestyle, backing off the sober self-recognition of Me Against the World. Sure, there are a few reflective numbers and dead-homiez tributes, but they're much more romanticized this time around. All Eyez on Me is 2Pac the thug icon in all his brazen excess, throwing off all self-control and letting it all hang out -- even if some of it would have been better kept to himself. In that sense, it's an accurate depiction of what made him such a volatile and compelling personality, despite some undeniable filler. On the plus side, this is easily the best production he's ever had on record, handled mostly by Johnny J (notably on the smash "How Do U Want It") and Dat Nigga Daz; Dr. Dre also contributes another surefire single in "California Love" (which, unfortunately, is present only as a remix, not the original hit version). Both hits are on the front-loaded first disc, which would be a gangsta classic in itself; other highlights include the anthemic Snoop Dogg duet "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted," "All About U" (with the required Nate Dogg-sung hook), and "I Ain't Mad at Cha," a tribute to old friends who've gotten off the streets. Despite some good moments, the second disc is slowed by filler and countless guest appearances, plus a few too many thug-lovin' divas crooning their loyalty. Erratic though it may be, All Eyez on Me is nonetheless carried off with the assurance of a legend in his own time, and it stands as 2Pac's magnum opus.

Review:
The early to mid-'90s proved the Melvins' golden age, and the three principal albums from that period -- Stoner Witch provides the centerpiece -- are virtually unassailable in their range, depth, power, and experimental courage. Picking up on the basic framework of Houdini, Stoner Witch resolves into an ear-catching workup of classic rock themes, tempered, of course, with a fairly judicious sampling of acid-trip detours. Where Houdini resided more in an expansive -- though lugubriously heavy -- metal vein, refining the techniques built up through the band's early struggles, Stoner Witch truly showcases the band at the apex of their wide-ranging creative abilities. The melodies -- yes, melodies -- work seamlessly with the ubiquitous chugging riffs; Buzzo's vocals, often reminiscent of a David Thomas (Pere Ubu) after a few weeks of no-nonsense boot camp, are sometimes quiet and reflective, and more often than not, positively Stentorian. And naturally, drummer Dale Crover's percussion and pounding behind the kit is astonishing, powerful, and daring. The album opens with the distorted thud of "Skweetis," the amps and cymbals washing well into red-line territory before yielding to a three-count of heavy-duty classic rock with "Queen," "Sweet Willy Rollbar," and "Revolve." From that point on, there is a deliberate sea-change, beginning with the faux-lounge tweaking of "Goose Freight Train," the nearly unlistenable Merzbow-noise of "Magic Pig Detective," and ultimately the hammer-down hardcore of "June Bug" sandwiched between two ambient tracks: "Shevil" and the album closer, "Lividity."

Say Anything - ...Is A Real Boy
http://www.mediafire.com/?z0izigknlcy
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/5457/realboynl0.jpg
Review:
Despite some of the hype surrounding its release, Say Anything's self-described rock opera ...Is a Real Boy still caught many in the punk scene off-guard, seemingly coming out of nowhere with its theatrical tone and critical, perceptive lyrical makeup. At the helm of the album is the self-conscious 20-something singer/songwriter Max Bemis, who ultimately is Say Anything: he wrote and plays pretty much everything but percussion on the record. The songs were originally written as part of a play, complete with a cast of characters, full story, and spoken interludes. A rise-and-fall plot of sorts, the story line was to be: a band is mediocre until its idealistic frontman (who also suffers from alienation and anxiety in a world of hypocrisy) becomes cursed to spew his innermost thoughts in the form of honest songs that alter the band into wildly popular stars before their own hypocrisy leads to their undoing. And though the proposed story line didn't completely transfer to the album, it's almost too easy to see parallels between the real band and the made-up one, envisioning Bemis (with his own history of anxiety, depression, and paranoia) as the actual hyper-aware lead character. Sure, one could look at this album as self-indulgent, overzealous, and egocentric, but when the songs are as catchy, cutting, and enjoyable as these, it really doesn't matter.

No review, so here's mine: Do you guys like Bright Eyes? Do you think you'd like Bright Eyes if he were rocking out instead of whining? Do you like social commentary in the form of an attack on the American economy by a post-punky piece of sweetness headed by Connor Oberst? If you answered yes, then this is for you! This album rules, I listen to it regularly; it's very catchy, but very angular at the same time.
This one is for either Josh or Jake, I don't remember who asked for it, but I know that everyone should have it.
The Mountain Goats - Heretic Pride

http://bp3.blogger.com/_iVuSf4sibWw/R3pPxoxNSKI/AAAAAAAACZE/5xVPx9wpKzw/s200/heretic_pride.jpeg
The Mountain Goats are, for all practical purposes, the endlessly clever and prolific John Darnielle and whatever musicians he surrounds himself with, which means that while the soundscape may change from project to project, the overall tone and feel of Darnielle's work remains remarkably consistent, an impressive achievement, really, since Heretic Pride is his umpteenth album (and fourth for 4AD), and, as luck would have it, one of his most finely balanced ones at that. Darnielle at his best writes finely observed, slightly surreal, impressionistic vignettes that manage to mix life as we live it with life as we wish we could live it, and as such he has more in common with a short story writer than he does with the typical singer/songwriter. At his worst, he sounds glib, wordy, over wrought and ultimately unbelievable. Thankfully there is little of that kind of sputtering here, and Heretic Pride is almost perfectly structured
So yeah, get these, suckas.

I agree. I would be annoyed if someone gave me a mixtape with like 8 songs by one artist, and then I learned I didn't like that artist. It would turn me away from listening to that mixtape again. Now if it's one song by an artist I don't like, easy enough to skip that song.
It also just seems ridiculously long in general, though that could be because of too many songs by a few artists.
Finally, in artist order = :( Must be in a logical order as determined by creator.
I'm picky.

There's a difference between people, fanbases, and the music being white, but it's clear from this post that you're less interested in knowing what I actually meant and more interested in keeping your earlier critique intact even though it's based on a misreading. So, either way it's not worth pursuing any further, so we go back to on-topic requesting and sharing of the music now.

Actually I want to know what you meant then...
You said, this is how you become a white person... which implies, listen to this music to become more white, because white people listen to this music. I don't remotely see what I misread here. And I don't know how you misread my post and assuming I don't care what you actually meant but do care about keeping my argument in tact...

Yo, here are some albums that I either uploaded for people or not:
Portugal. The Man - Waiter: "You Vultures!" (http://www.sendspace.com/file/mr5cxc)
http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/drh100/h133/h13361ezjgw.jpg
AMG's review is unnecessarily harsh. They're great story tellers, kinda dancy, kinda electronicy. I dunno, it's catchy and it's fun and it's cool.
Here's two albums in one, both of which are utterly fantastic:
Fake Problems - How Far Our Bodies Go + Spokes And Spurs/Bull > Matador EP (http://www.sendspace.com/file/otdyt8)
http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/dri500/i538/i53810hv7de.jpg http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/dri200/i280/i28080ffor2.jpg
There's no review for How Far Our Bodies Go, but it was easily one of the best albums that came out last year. It's like... country punk or something. Really gnarly.
Here's the AMG review of Spokes/Spurs/Bull > Matador:
Like the rapscallion result of an illicit affair between early Against Me! and Whiskeytown, Fake Problems hoot and holler their way through the eight songs of the Spurs & Spokes | Bull > Matador EP. Anchoring summer 2006's Spurs & Spokes EP to four re-recorded tracks from their earlier Watching the Bull Get the Matador album, this is a great introduction to the Florida quartet, who effortlessly meld alt country and indie rock with the urgency of punk and a stripped down vibe.
I highly suggest both albums.

Can someone get me Daft Punk's Human After All? I need it, like, ASAP. I searched rapidshare, but the .rars I find need passwords :(

Anyone have This Is Me Smiling s/t or anything by Professional Murder Music?
This is mostly for Jake, but anyone else that wants it is free to download it as well.
North Star Infinite (who recently changed their name to Brass) are my brother's band. Some people that reviewed them have described them as math-rock/math-core, but they're not really extreme enough in either respect for those names to fit. Anyway, they mix slightly spacey prog-rock, punk and indie-rock together, their most obvious influence is the Mars Volta but they bring a lot of other influences into the mix as well and manage to have their own sound.
North Star Infinite - In Embers (http://www.sendspace.com/file/0z58rg) My favorite release of theirs so far, I think they released this one shortly after the last time I sent you anything by them. It's the last one with their old drummer.
Brass - Set & Drift (http://www.sendspace.com/file/a40hfn) Slightly less good. The opening track has a couple spots where it sounds like everyone's playing something different (possibly an attempt to sound more math-y) but to no real effect which makes it sound like someone just fell out of time with the rest of the band. The rest of the album is pretty good. They released this just in the last few months.
Brass - A Small Breath (http://www.sendspace.com/file/38y2wr) Released for free on their website just yesterday, this one's a 3 song EP that's really solid.

Does anyone have either "Finding the Rhythms" or "Forever and Counting" by Hot Water Music? They're the only two I don't have at this point.

For those who are interested, here's the soundtrack for Home Movies. Anyone who watches the show knows that the music is fantastic. It's all composed by Brendon Small, who also writes (script and music) for Metalocalypse.
There's 52 short tracks of mostly Duane's band when he helps out in Brendon's movies and general background music from the show. I think there's a quite a number of gems in there that could be passed off as serious music, but the majority is mostly silly, which I still enjoy. It all varies from metal to post rock.

My favorite tracks are the Franz Kafka songs, Sunset Theme (http://www.sendspace.com/file/eq3dbr), Duanetastic (http://www.sendspace.com/file/46fs5e), Mr. Pants, The Ballad of Kind Arthur, and I'm a Kid Again.

Super vague with that, sorry.
Anything interesting, besides metal. I've never been able to get into any metal.
Also, does anyone have Give up the Ghost's 'Year One'?

Hay, I listened to the EP and really liked it, however the two albums are in ogg format so I can't listen to them. Any chance you could re-upload them in mp3 or maybe suggest a program to play/convert ogg?
Yeah, I'll re-rip them to mp3 format tonight.

Ok, bear with me on this moderately convoluted method:
Part1 (http://www.4shared.com/file/14687214/f1317ab/Human_After_Allpart1.html)
Part2 (http://www.4shared.com/file/14678249/d6e618d4/Human_After_Allpart2.html)
Now the initial password is: www.musicsharing4all.blogspot.com (Edit: damn stupid link thing)
Then rar files need the password: musicsharing4all
It's the best one I can find in relatively no time.

So I heard what I'm pretty sure is Death Cab for Cutie's new single.
I pretty much adore it, I haven't heard anything else by them though, is their other stuff similar?
If not I'd still like that album please?

Yeah, their other stuff is similar. I've been looking on the web for the album, and so far I haven't found anything. It was released today, so it will probably be up tomorrow.

Hello guys,
The album I look for is pretty difficult to find, but maybe someone of you has it. I'm looking for The Daddy of Them All by the Space Monkeys. Currently I only have the song "Ready for the rampage", which is pretty impressive.

I'd be glad to do that for you. Any idea what you'd like? This is what I've got:
Are Me
Are Men
Barenaked for the Holidays (obviously their Christmas album)
Born on a Pirate Ship
Buck Naked
Everything to Everyone
Gordon
Maroon
Maybe You Should Drive
Rock Spectacle (their live album)
Stunt
Yellow
And a few random or rare songs.
Any albums you'd particularly like?
