View Full Version : The X-Files
I forgot just how much I loved that show. I grabbed a season from Best Buy a few days ago because they're selling them for $22.50 each (as opposed to the $120 or whatever they were when they first came out and the $60 they were just like a month or two ago) and have been pretty much just wasting away on the couch ever since. I got the second season which is 25 episodes and it's been so long since they first aired that I only remembered a handful of them. Good stuff.

Back when I had Netflix, I used it to make my way through the first season (never saw them when they originally aired). I may have to pick that up.

I was obsessed, from Season 4 til season 7. I think the X-Files had one of the greatest most intricate reoccurring plot lines ever. They had an amazing story around season 5-6. then i think around season 7 they blew it. they just ditched the story and killed of mulder for the 2nd or 3rd time. seriously, cmon.

i have every season up through 7 EXCEPT season 2. damn you, Josh (though, you know this).
i'm hoping to watch them this weekend or something cause my boyfriend has never really seen any of the episodes...might as well force a bit of season one on him this weekend.

x files marathon = fuckyes.
my most recent xfiles experience was awesome... i took my mac and xfiles collection camping with me (yes, i'm a loser, i know) and we watched 2-3 episodes a night in our tent. eating candy. with no light whatsoever (island in the middle of a huge lake, so dark as fuck). i was scared SHITLESS.
it was perfect. :D

I just wanted to ask how many of you are x-files fans. I just got the complete collection last week, for about 60 pounds, and its so awesome. I guess Id only ever seen up to season 5 but its only seasons 1 to 3 that I had seen completely. Anyway, the first thing that was cool is seeing it for the first time in english, its pretty bad in french, cause you don't notice the difference in accents, so you can't tell that some people are english and some american or whatever. But anyway its so awesome to have the complete collection, and to finally have seen the movie, and be able to see all the seasons after season 5, that Ive never seen. I'm just watching season 6 at the moment (Ive nearly finished as I watched it all weekend) and its really exciting.
What are your favourite seasons? and episodes? and what do you like best in the x-files?

Wow thanks, I had NO idea they were doing a new movie!!! I thought the x-files were finished ages ago. Im at the end of season 6, just one more dvd to go... Cause when I was renting the seasons, they didnt have season 4 and so I watched season 5. That was just last month, so last week when i got the complete collection, I started straight at season 4 and then on to 6.
Cool to know there's gonna be a movie, is it gonna be on at cinemas soon?
July 25th 2008 at the cinemas!! Cool I gotta remember that.. I'll be in the states then, and my boyfriend doesnt like the x-files... but I guess he can't just let me go on my own!! lol Im gonna need to go though.

2. it's scary
3. mulder and scully rock my socks <3
4. my fondest memories of xfiles include a lot of popcorn, lots of cadbury eclairs and a very attractive girl watching it with me. in other words, an exquisite experience.

I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan. I love Star Trek, I play any sci-fi game I can get my hands on, I can waste away with a novel in my hands.
And yet.. I've never, ever seen X-Files.

I'd loved the X-files from the very first time I saw it (it wasnt the pilot, it might have been the first episode with tooms, or the second or third episode or something). I used to watch it with my sister and my parents, we all loved it. After the first season my sister and mum got kinda bored cause they thought it was too much of the same stuff, but my dad kept watching it with me. It was really cool cause my dad always makes funny comments, so its cool. I also shared the love of the x-files with my best friend Loic ((RIP). If I was to say ONE show that touched me ever, one thing that I love more than anything, its the x-files!! And watching it in english makes the mudler/scully team much more funny than in french.
For some weird reason, I've always thought the theme music of the x-files scarier than the episodes themselves. All the episodes are awesome and a lot of them scary (I guess the most scary and horrible one is the one with the peacock brothers in season 4, a real horror episode). But the one thing that made me scared was the theme song...
Glad to know there are other offspring fans who are fan of the x-files too...

Yeah, I totally agree with you!!

Fox banned that episode after the first time it aired and only showed it one time since then, on Halloween a few years back. That episode is also responsible for my fear of Johnny Mathis.

I suppose they would have probably aired that episode in France, as they just don't care, and as saturday night is "american tvshow" night, and it would have probably have aired, but as I said, I stopped following the x-files thoroughly after season 3, so I missed that one. I only saw it since I got the complete collection, and it's like the one I least like somehow. But at the same time, it's great as a horror movie. I don't know who Johnny mathis is...

Have you ever noticed all the references to the offspring that were in season 1 of the x-files? I just noticed these this year when I started watching x-files from the beginning again.
- In one episode, a guy on the phone (mulder was working on listening to phone calls), a guy said "you know, something something was like "come out and play" by the offspring"
- In the episode with the guy who makes lighting rods fall to the ground the guy is wearing an offspring t-shirt!!!
And the guy from the Lone Gunman is always wearing rock t-shirts, and once he was wearing a social distortion one. Not offspring but pretty cool.
I don't know who Johnny mathis is...
The "Wonderful Wonderful" song that they play throughout the episode.

I think they also play a Vandals song in that episode.

Oh ok, I remember the wonderful song... not that I'd hear it anywhere else, and being a not creepy song, it wouldnt creep me out... lol
I wouldnt know if they played a vandals song as I don't listen to their music, but they was a vandals t-shirt!!

house and voyager can wait. you need to correct this injustice. lol
i think some are my favorite episodes are dreamland I/ II, with michael mckean, the episodes where mulder switches bodies with morris fletcher.
and bad blood, how they each retell their side of what happened.
Home is excellet, i agree.

house.. can wait.
Dare you to say that to Hugh Laurie's face. He's stomp all over y0 ass, House M.D style!
SPeaking of House, in last week's episode, it WAS Lupus!
I think Hugh Laurie would appreciate a good X-files marathon.

Yeah, but halfway through he'd stop, stare for a moment, and then walk off, realising that it is a Protein-AB deficiency.
