View Full Version : BBS End-of-Year Awards 2007
Nineteen Seventy Nine

Happy New Year, everybody! I hope I'm not too late on this one, I kept waiting for it to show up.
Same thing as last year. You don't have to use the categories I listed, and you can make up your own. Please, just don't get too serious about things, and as of this time there are no actual awards available to winners.

I need more time to think about it, but the best thread is definitely, without a doubt the Music Upload/Sharing thread. Holy shit. I had over EIGHT DAYS of music I hadn't listened to. I've been going through it, though, and I'm at, like, 6 and a half or something now.

I nominate TheOldMark for every single category.

the best thread is definitely, without a doubt the Music Upload/Sharing thread.
That, and the circumcision thread.

I'll do mine right now and edit in some later if I'm unsure.
- Best member of '07: mrconeman. He's helped with a lot of music related stuff with me.
- Worst member of '07: noodlesfan (razor in dick? come on now..)
- Funniest member of '07: 0r4ng3 (comics ftw), JN, RickyCrack, Vera, and JoY. (Bella and Sanni together make me laugh. [/suckup] )
- Best newbie of '07: Mr Gepetto. He came from nowhere and is totally fine.
- Worst newbie of '07: I honestly don't know...
- Most improved member of '07: [edit in]
- Most annoying member of '07: noodlesfan. (...as stated above!)
- Best thread of '07: Play!!! (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30739) or all of the threads that lead to the big mod 'scandal' thing. Where we though we were gonna get all new mods. Oh, what a fun time. (Ehm, in all honestly... I can't remember if that was early in 2007. It was, wasn't it? :o )
As I said, I'll edit tomorrow.

Were there any newbies this year? At least, any of merit?
Harnum
01-02-2008, 08:37 PM
Mr. Gepetto, unless he was an old BBS member on a new account (I hopez nottt. :o). Either way, he's decent. Kinda hangs around 'Your Band' and 'Other Bands' more, but you can actually talk to him. Besides him, there's nobody really.

MVP member of '07: Jakebert. He made so many good threads when this BBS was on the downside, and had some awesome posts.
Worst member of '07: Noodlesfan, maybe?
Funniest member of '07: 0r4ng3, and that JohnnyNemesis character.
Best newbie of '07: Mr. Gepetto
Most improved member of '07: Err, tough to say.
Most annoying member of '07: I'm with noodlesfan.
Best thread of '07: Oh yes, the Music Sharing thread.
Were there any newbies this year? At least, any of merit?
Mr. Gepetto is the only one really that gave himself some notice. He gets my vote for best newbie.

Honestly, I don't use this thread. Maybe I should? Anyway, is it actually that great?
mrconeman
01-02-2008, 08:44 PM
This is going to be hard to do, I think. The categories with which I can actually think of some people, I can think of too many, and other categories I can think of none at all appropriate.
Gimmie some time to think and I'll do something.
Am I cynical in saying that I'm not really a music sharing thread enthusiast?
It's useful in seeing recommendation's and of course, letting other people know about stuff, I suppose, but if you already know what you're after, why not just go download it?
coke_a_holic
01-02-2008, 08:51 PM
The joy of the thread is downloading music you may have never even heard of before and expanding horizons further than you thought you would. You should definitely check it out; I try and include reviews of albums that describe them with my uploads so that people who may have never heard of the album could determine if they want to try it out or not.
Also, I guess I'll fill this nonsense out:
Best member of '07: I would agree with Wally, and say Jakebert has been particularly excellent this year.
Worst member of '07: Sin Studly ditched us. Weak.
Funniest member of '07: Mota Boy continues to make me lol.
Best newbie of '07: Kasavin, obv.
Worst newbie of '07: Kasavin, obv.
Most improved member of '07: I wasn't paying attention here.
Most annoying member of '07: Kasavin, obv.

k here I go
Best member of '07: Honestly, for me this could go to Jakebert for keeping the place alive, or Johnnynemesis or Wheelchairman or Motaboy just for consistent great posting.
Worst member of '07: The epic faggotrifecta of Zagmeno, Noodlesfan and Lodat. Maybe that's just a hangover from 06, I honestly can't even remember if they were at their worst this year?
Funniest member of '07: Orange has been making me laugh as always, and it seems that every single time Skratch posts he says something lolworthy.
Best newbie of '07": There wasn't one.
Worst newbie of '07: All of them, because they failed to produce a good one.
Most improved member of '07: Harnum, he's one of the only members still active in Your band, which for a long time for me was the best part of this place, and he's just generally pretty cool. Y'know, for a Canadian. I was going to put Sinister here too, but that would have been more for his efforts off the board than on. And he's Canadian too, we don't need two of them.
Most annoying member of '07: TheoldMark. He hasn't done anything particularly bad of late I don't think, but it's like, I see his name and I'm annoyed just by the connotations.
Most unfortunate decrease in posting of '07: Sin Studly. Leaving was gay, but seriously, he was one of the best posters on here, his posts were always of high quality, even when dealing with morons, and you could never quite tell if he was entirely serious or not, I liked that about him. I<3llamas should stop her posting decrease also. Also, PaintitBlack and JoY.
Most fortunate decrease in posting of '07: I feel like I'll be lynched for saying it, but I honestly never saw the merit of some of the 1337 posters that don't really post anymore, and just so I'm not a fag, yeah, I'll name names, The_Goddess seemed particularly boring, and Iza only seemed to show up to agree with Sunny or JoY or someone and leave again. Sunny is good though.
Most highly justified ban of all time: Noodlesfan. Great justice.
Best thread of '07: All the Camel Filters threads provided lols, drama and entertainment when it was sorely lacking.
I may or may not add more.
the_offsprings_monkey

The used to post bunches though, as indicated by their post count (and much, much more before this board).

I usually have trouble with these, but here it goes.
Best member of '07: 3 way tie between Little Miss 1565, JN, and 0r4ng3.
Worst member of '07: TheOldMark
Funniest member of '07: ninth
Best newbie of '07" I haven't noticed any of the new people this year unless they were bad, so I can't say anything for this one.
Worst newbie of '07: Schythe Death
Most improved member of '07: I haven't really been paying attention, but I'm sure there's a few.
Most annoying member of '07: noodlesfan
Best thread of '07: Any thread that came out of the April Fools moderator prank.
Sunny
01-03-2008, 12:08 PM
ok... hm. i'm having a hard time making a list because a lot of the popular male personalities kinda... blend into one in my perception. like it's just a homogenous mass of kinda witty, decently intelligent young guys that occasionally bring the lols, but seem to have no distinctive traits of their own. :z
but anyways.
it's a shame ninth doesn't post much anymore.
as far as best members go, 1565, skratch and mota boy are consistently funny and smart. not to mention hottiezz.

Oh, and I'm surprised this thread has existed for 18 hours without accusations of 1337ness and asskissing. Is the whining truly dead?
No one voted for me! It's a 1337 conspiracy! New mods!

I hope. Come to think of it, I don't think there's that much whining about the whole '1337' thing anymore. Besides the occasional MB420 and OldMark run-in. But I think those are minor.

I nominate Claibia for "Most often responsible for causing me not to post because he said what I wanted to say, but did it way better than I could have."
I also nominate myself for "Most unnecessarily verbose sentences whose goal is to minimize ambiguity through specificity of diction, but in the end are just confusing and/or don't make any sense period."

I concur with Claibe's nomination, skratchy.
I also nominate myself for "Most unnecessarily verbose sentences whose goal is to minimize ambiguity through specificity of diction, but in the end are just confusing and/or don't make any sense period."
Appropriately perfect, really, I look forward out on lovin' soon.
Josh: me too! I FAVOR NUDE MODS.

I nominate Claibia for "Most often responsible for causing me not to post because he said what I wanted to say, but did it way better than I could have."
Actually, that quote made up about 99% of your posts this year
I also nominate myself for "Most unnecessarily verbose sentences whose goal is to minimize ambiguity through specificity of diction, but in the end are just confusing and/or don't make any sense period."
I should win that one. I do it too often, and I annoy myself with it.
Appropriately perfect, really, I look forward out on lovin' soon.
I love it.
I want to thank Harnum & mrconeman for the lovin'.
but I'd like to add Sim was, is & will never be boring & Iza has contributed a shitload to this board over time. their interest in this board just decreased & not without reason. I miss their regular presence around here.<3
I agree with Laura that it sucks to see Justin gone & it's fantastic to have Sunny around again. I also love to see Laura posting semi-regularly again. I love her way of wording things. she gets a chuckle out of me with every post.
some nominations: Claibe is the best at wording his always sensible points, Josh was undeserved the most unlucky member of the year, Per & Tizz the cutest member-combination, Sanni the most cuddle-worthy member & deserving of the female-with-best-functioning-brain-award. which is special, because Scythe knows, there aren't many females with a functioning brain at all. TheOldMark caused the most disturbance & gets to share the by-moderators-most-discussed-award with Noodlesfan & Scythe & Venom may share the award for spreading the most bitterness. Brianna gets the mad-Brianna-science-award.<3
I could nominate everyone for something, but I really don't want to do that. I already should win the award for being the most long-winded member as it is.
edit; & making the most edits.

thank you, m'dear.
i'm with you on the Sim thing, i was actually kind of surprised to see her singled out as the "boring 1337 member". uh, wtf. i personally feel her posts are thought out and interesting. *shrugs* i think Sim's online persona can get a bit over the top now and then, but in debates she makes better points than most, and eloquently so.

I think Mota Boy has some of the best responses I read, although like Skratch mentioned it kind of curtails any attempt at a point I might have made because I'd just be repeating his point.
And Iza and Sim for most unfortunate decrease in posting.
I think Harnum's a pretty cool guy, but don't much notice him aside from Your Band. I don't know quite how new Sham is, but he seems willing to learn and friendly enough that I'd nominate him for best newbie.

I haven't read enough of the BBS by any means to know what's going on, I didn't even know half the people that have been mentioned as leaving were gone. I was assuming Sunny and Cali were just always here, oops.
I have to give a mention to 1565 as best member, because when I read her posts I find myself agreeing and thinking she's the voice of reason.
And I have to agree, Mota Boy still blows me away with his train of thought and wording. Pure brilliance. No category there, there should be.

why don't we have cool categories like "best hair" "most likely to succeed" "least likely to end up in prison" "largest penis" "most likely to be dead by year's end" etc?
I haven't paid enough attention lately to make a proper ballot, so I'll just list the members I like and happily read posts from (whether they still post or not):
Ricky, Per, Tijs, Dave (tunb), 1565, Endymion, Coneman, Tijs, Meg, 1979, Bella, Sunny, Jesse, Simona, Thibault, Mike, Alec. I don't think I've missed anyone out.
I would list the members I don't care for, but I've not drank enough. In fact, I don't actively dislike anyone. Just don't really care.

I was madly in love with him when he posted more often. His decrease in posting + absolutely shocking performance in that thread (Justin? WHINING? I swear on all that is holy, that's the last thing I would have ever expected) made the transition to departure practically seamless.

I don't know why you think it's a big deal. It was his goodbye thread after 7 years here and he just got really emotional. to my belief he's a capricorn
The Capricornian is generally a serious character possessing a wry sense of humor. Independent, steady as a rock, Capricorn reflects earthy qualities that range from clever to vacuous. Mostly cautious, confident, strong willed, reasonable and hard working, Capricorns are a rock upon which to build. They are often aloof, shrewd, practical, responsible and persevering. They are capable of great endurance Reliable in any profession they undertake, but lacking in originality, they usually excel in following up on what someone else has started.
Within prescribed areas, Capricorn is a resourceful, practical manager. These folks set high standards for themselves and others. They are self critical, and work well in a disciplined environment, demanding equal measure from their subordinates.
A careful, ambitious planner, Capricorn moves forward with quiet, deliberate persistence. They can be frugal, possessing the ability to achieve results with minimum effort and expense. Highly organized, they excel in managing several projects simultaneously.
Capricorn will often vie for a position of authority. Once attaining control, they are demanding and exacting in leadership. Although firm, they are usually fair to people they deal with. They value tradition.
Positive Traits
A person born under the sign of Capricorn will have a tendency to be goal oriented. They seek positions where they can have great control and authority. They don't function well in subordinate positions. If they believe they can succeed in attaining a goal, they will perservere until it is reached.
Capricorns tend to be profound thinkers. To them life is a serious business, and the need to be in control of it is paramount. They are seekers after knowledge and wisdom. Rational, logical and clearheaded, they have excellent concentration, and delight in all forms of debate but will maintain these bonds their entire life.
They are loyal to intimates. Never impetuous, they consider business and personal relationships carefully before becoming involved. These are family people, and family usually comes first, except where business is their primary concern.
Main positive traits: Ambitious, hard working, responsible, practical, perserverance, self-discipline.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Negative Traits
Their naturally pessimistic nature explains their wry sense of humor, which some think is no humor at all. They can spread gloom and tension in a minute and are quite capable of depressing everyone else around them. Never really up, but often down, they need a positive environment to enliven their spirits.
In personal relationships they tend to be uncomfortable. Rather self-centered, they are wary and suspicious of others. They often have few close friends, but indifferent and sometimes callous to those outside their circle.
Main negative traits: Stubborn, overbearing, unforgiving, inhibited, fatalistic, condescending.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Profession
The occupations Capricorns usually choose are as doctors, lawyers, accountants, and any endeavor that deals with maths or money. They excel as bureaucrats, especially where projects demanding long-term planning are concerned.
Capricorns also make excellent politicians due to their skill in debate, and good teachers . They do best in an environment wherein they can exercise their desire for authority and organization. They are good with their hands, and may choose to be engineers, farmers or builders. The wit and flippancy so characteristic of some Capricorns allows them to consider entertainment as a career. Many are also strongly attracted to musical pursuits.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lucky Stone
Garnet
Garnets can be found in a wide variety of colors except for blue. This is due to the fact that there is a wide variety of chemical compositions in this family of gemstones. Garnet is the name of a large family of stones that includes almandine, andradite, grossular, pyrope, and spessartine. The most precious and widely used gems of all these families are almandine and pyrope.
oh fuck it, garnet is MY fave stone... got the loveliest garnet earrings on some birthday or other... garnet is usually found in deep, shimmering red, mind you

As to the zodiac, it depends on where in that zodiac you were born, as in the date, the circumstances, arrangement of stars and all that. My dad's got a mug for capricorn somewhere , and to be honest, most of what was in Maria's post describes my dad [B]perfectly
EDIT: found the mug
[it's quite old fashioned so bear with me]
Planet: Saturn
Colours: Black and grey
Stones: Jet, Amber and pearl
Element: Earth
Friends: Taurus, Scorpio and Virgo
Enemies: Aries and Libra. Also Cancer though these may marry, but scant comfort be gained thereby [Funnily enough, the starsign of my mother, who he divorced]
Occupations: Curriers, Night-Farmers, Miners, Tinners, Broom-men, Malsters, Sweepers, Scavengers, Hostlers, Hostlers, Colliers, Ditchers, Shepherds, Cow-keepers and Robbers.
If born with stars well placed: They are profound in imagination, in their acts severe, In their words reserved, In speaking and giving very spare, in labour patient, in arguing or disputing very grave, in obtaining the goods of this life studious and solicitous, in all manners of action austere, They shall be cunning in curing of leather. [lol] They shall keep counsel well and be wise in counselling.
If born will stars ill placed:They shall be false, envious and full of debate, and full of law. Great eaters of bread and flesh they shall have stinking breath. They shall be heavy, thoughtful and malicious, a Robber, a Fighter an full of covetousness and they shall love to sin willfully. They shall be quarrelsome, fretful and austere, Avarious and secretiveThen sre they envious, covetous, jealous, and mistrustfulle [sic] timorous, sordid, and outwardly dissembling. Sluggish, suspicious, stubborn, a contemner of women, a close lyar, malicious, murmuring, deceitfulle, never contented and ever repining.

as for the zodiac, meg, well yeah, it all depends, on the ascendant, too, and haven't a clue where justin was born and what hour and all that... anyway capricorn and I are so totally incompatible it's a hilarious tragedy
i'm gemini and i once dated a virgo i ditched him on account of his being the most selfish, catholic, hypocritical bastard i ever encountered in all-my-life. a liar, basically, and with that, greedy as all hell. well i knew when he was born, not his zodiac, i checked and found out he was a virgo, and boy did i laugh on seeing "incompatible" written in plain white over black. he was so fucking self-centered and down-to-earth i'll never, ever, ever consider dating a virgo again.
hau, horoscopes are shit. i can write my own horoscope for that matter. but check out what they say about geminis on a good zodiac page (i like findyourfate.com) and see if it compares favourably with yours truly. if it doesn't, then you'll just shrug it off, won't you?

Maria, this is a public forum. You do not get to dictate who may and may not speak to you. There is an ignore function to strip out any posters you do not want to see on your screen. holy. shit. did anyone hear about that girl whose mom and sister made a fake persona on the internet and seduced the girl so she was totally in love with her internet boyfriend then they told her it was fake and she killed herself? :[Dude, not even. They never told her it was fake; they told her that they didn't like her any more and heard she was "mean to her friends" (the girl was an ex-friend of the girl they went after, so they were getting "revenge" or something like that - oh, and the girl's mom knew that their target had been taking anti-depressants) and that nobody liked her and that she should go kill herself.
And THEN.
It was only several weeks after the incident that it all came out (a mutual friend told them), and the family of the girl that killed herself was keeping a foosball table in storage as a Christmas present for the family of the woman that killed their girl, and so they fucking took an axe to it and left it in chunks in their driveway. And the POLICE only learned about the whole thing when the other family tried to file charges for destroying the foosball table.
While the whole thing is a tragic story about extreme human pettiness, I love the fact that it's basically elicited a sense of national mob justice. The woman had to close down her business and people protested outside her home and the local attorney general tried to find a law to prosecute her under but couldn't so the state *passed* a law specifically to make the crime an offense and because everyone feels something should be done to the woman, the attorney general's office out in California is now looking into charging her for defrauding MySpace (because MySpace is headquartered in Cali, they have jurisdiction) and the entire nation basically hates her.
There's something about that I kinda like, that we can all pull together collectively and go "Man, what a bitch."

Word, Mota Boy. What gets me about the whole situation is that so many people (including myself) seem to be extra appalled at the fact that the woman wasn't the slightest bit apologetic. That little detail really gets people's blood flowing, and I understand why, but it's a little funny because if she did apologize, I'm thinking these same people would go all "ohhh, save it, of course you would say that NOW" on us. And again, for good reason. It's just funny how the absence of an apology increases the venom, even though the inclusion of an apology would do nothing to soothe anyone's rage. I guess I find it sorta chuckleworthy people are so mediated by those kinds of details (apologies, motive), but when it comes down to it, the disgust over the actual crime overshadows everything...as it should.

ooooh. god, news is such a game of telephone. wait, so the girl's mom knew about the prank? or the ex-friend's mom knew? why doesn't everyone hate the girl who played the prank in the first place?
my little sister did that to her friend jasmin. she e-seduced jasmin and got her to tell this fake dude she'd blow him and they should meet up, then my sister and her evil little friend sent the messages to jasmin's boyfriend. the most depressing part of it (besides the fact that my sister actually BRAGGED to me about it and showed me the back and forths after the fact) is that somewhere in the messages jasmin had gone on a little shpiel about how much she loves my sister and the other little terror.
ps where's my china thing at?
Mota Boy
01-10-2008, 07:16 PM
To me it's not just the lack of an apology (I think they did go to the family's house to apologize or say something, but the family, understandably, didn't even want to see them, 'specially 'cause they originally tried to cover it all up and whatnot), it's the fact that they tried to press charges over the goddamn foosball table. You think they could've at least been all like "OK, a foosball table for a daughter, that's cool." (I mean, plenty of culture's have blood feuds for Chrissakes, we're just like "Oh yeah? Take THAT semi-luxurious entertainment device!")
Lauura - the ex-friend's mom knew, and was helping her daughter along with it. And I think she told another woman, all giggly-like, who ended up telling the dead girl's mother a few weeks after the incident. People don't hate the daughter because she was, like, thirteen at the time, and little children are expected to be stupid and cruel. The idea of an adult intentionally fucking with an overweight, depressed girl like that is what sets people off. Oh, and their address is totally pasted all over the web if you really want to look it up and send them a dead chipmunk.
I think it's just that the woman thought she was bonding with her daughter and defending her from... something, I dunno, and was too caught up in being her daughter's friend to be her daughter's mom. Oh, and you have one twisted sister, sister.

it's interesting how everyone who's banding together to attack this girl's vile mother pretends they give a shit about the girl who died as if they wouldn't look down their noses at her if they'd ever met. a lot of the time the most infuriated people in situations like this are infuriated because they see something of themselves in the infuriator (supposing that's a word). of course anyone who hears about this is going to say, "what a piece of human trash." but I think it's probably more of a complete lack of self worth on the mother's part than pure evil maliciousness. that being said, maybe I'll tell my sister and she can send the unapologetic mother a douchebag in the mail.

dude, it already happened. the chick's dead. it's kind of irreversible. all that could be done right now to make the situation the slightest bit less terrible & inhumane, is an apology. of course now the shit's already hit the fan & no one can turn back time, people hope for an apology. for a deep, soulcracking feeling of guilt & remorse. it's the last & least thing you could hope for, but nooooo. that..WOMAN, a mother for god's sake, has to be the most childish, immature, revengeful bitch on earth. which was of course to be expected, seeing the whole act had to involve those traits. but I already said this in very elaborate ways; that people can't expect remorse, or even a fake apology from someone who is twisted enough to do such a thing.

dude, it already happened. the chick's dead. it's kind of irreversible. all that could be done right now to make the situation the slightest bit less terrible & inhumane, is an apology.
Yeah, that was my point. People still clamor for one, but it would make no sense.
I think you missed my point.
what is there you can do, after a young teenage girl already commited suicide?
not much, but you could at least apologise. it's just not to be expected in this case.

did we ever talk, or was it my last topic that got me this interesting nomination?
That lady doesn't deserve to give an apology. Some things are so bad apoligizing is out of bounds. It's like Osama apoligizing for 9/11, or Hitler apologizing for the Holocaust.
or like giving Jews & their family members a load of money as an apology for the discomfort of the second world war?
if an apology is sincere & not just a couple of words to make someone feel better, or to look better in the eyes of others, or to make the situation less uncomfortable for yourself... any apology from anyone in any situation is welcome.
your scenario; if Hitler was still alive & would tell my family he's sorry for what he did & that he was wrong, knows that now, & feels remorse.. I bet every single one of my family members would say it's too little too late & turn around & walk away. but at the same time.. him knowing & admitting he was wrong & feeling bad about it.. I think that would mean something to them. they probably wouldn't admit it, but he would become more human & less of a monster in their eyes.
That Myspace mom fucking pwnt the shit out of that dumbass thirteen year old girl. Who fucking cares she would have found another reason to kill herself anyways. Natural selection. If they charge the mom over that the justice system is flawed.
calichix
01-13-2008, 12:27 AM
yeah, it's definitely not the holocaust. the mom did a really mean thing, sure. but people manage to muster up sympathy for women who have smoked crack during pregnancy, left babies in dumpsters, abandoned or neglected their children, etc. so wtf.

Not only is that not necessarily true at all. Those two sentences don't fit together in any way. Furthermore natural selection is no longer the manner in which our species moves forward anyways.

gossip?
did we ever talk, or was it my last topic that got me this interesting nomination?
1. No.
2. I just think you post (very) much and nothing about The Offspring or similar topics. I don't say that's bad, but that's the way it is. Gossip was the first word that came into my mind.
No one in general chat makes posts about the Offspring. That's why it's called general chat and not GOD 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Offspring-Junkie
01-13-2008, 11:34 AM
Yeah, I know. That's ok. No big deal. Do I have to apologize, or what? I know what general chat means. I never saw her like in general offspring discussion, that's what I mean. But that's ok either. Get over it.
1. No.
2. I just think you post (very) much and nothing about The Offspring or similar topics. I don't say that's bad, but that's the way it is. Gossip was the first word that came into my mind.
so not talking about the Offspring is gossip?
I learn something new every day.
I don't only hang out in General Chat, by the way. not that I talk much about the Offspring in other forums, but I do visit most of them regularly, with or without posting there. not that it's important anyway.
& actually, you don't get to talk to nieh like "get over it". you made a wrong judgement about me, which is fine, because you don't know me, but when he points out this is General Chat, & he has every right to point it out, you don't get to say "get over it". like he has to get over the fact that I don't post much in GOD. I think you need to get over it.

Mostly just questions. For the suspense. You'll never know if Barry will actually open the door. Maybe he'll keep it ajar. Maybe he'll slam it against the wall and it'll slam back again from sheer momentum.
Maybe Huib and Isabel will marry, maybe Isa will ditch Huib, maybe she'll go out with the friend that's hitting on, maybe she'll have a threesome. Your guess is as good as mine.
From Maria's long running obsession with Justin (*takes you unawares*) to her talking about her and her man of the week doing poppers to just generally being a childish little bitch to anyone that voices a different opinion than her, she kind of forfeits her right to complain about anyone else posting personal/drama stuff on the board.

No. I'm intelligent. I'm beautiful. I've got a man whom I adore. What issues I might have are in no way commensurate to "oh my GOD someone is hitting on me". as for the poppers as to justin as to "man of the week" (what is that? What are my studies and in what bank am I currently employed?
Really, sod off. you make me puke.

jesus; learn concision.
- I didn't gossip about nieh by saying he didn't deserve such a ridiculously rude reaction. wtf.
- I share things about me & about my life. because it's easier said than done to understand a situation/person over the internet. talking about my family & my man, the people I love, isn't gossip. they are part of my life.
- asking for advice when I'm in a messy situation, isn't gossip either.
- using a story, or an experience of myself, or somebody else as an example, isn't gossip either.
you people don't know what gossip is. it's habitually discussing private stuff about other people behind their back for the love of sensation. when I tell something about somebody else to you guys, the focus is never on just the story & getting oooh's & aaah's. it usually always has a purpose.
edit; alright, now I'm actually updated & have read the rest of the discussion... what the fucking hell? Maria, you drag things into this that all have to do with me personally. & you ridicule them. you must be kidding me. & this I get for agreeing with Nicole??

And it's usually derogatory. And I should imagine it would be kind of difficult to gossip derogatory stuff about yourself when you're trying to get advice about something.
And usually "gossip" is the sort of thing mothers do. You know, on the edge of the football field when they're meant to be watching their kid. Something to do y'know?
hey, I remember days stories about me & my relationship on here were completely out of my control. I had to hear things about my relationship through this board & it was pretty much a soap opera even I was watching. I was used to people on here having an opinion about private things about me & my life, that I didn't inform them on. the only way I could maximize my control over it, was by oversharing myself, so at least people heard it from me, before they heard it from anyone else.
if I let some of you enjoy my posts as some kind of soap opera by sharing things about my life & asking for advice, then yay for you. if people don't want to read it, fine. but this is my life. maybe I come off on here as egocentric & selfabsorbed to some people, but I am pretty damn sure that I give out advice more often, than I ask for it. we're supposed to interact on here, I like interacting.
ps. I wish my boyfriend was in the Offspring, because then I could still mention him, without gossiping.
