Zag, same here.

I love how this bbs is my source of news regarding anything in pop culture. I was wondering why my friend changed his Facebook status to "watching a Charlton Heston movie every day for a month". Now I understand. :)

this thread is as late as ol mr heston himself. i know a lot of people think he was a cunt for his NRA and various other stances later in his life, but i honestly think they should check into wh at he did in the 1960s before spouting off about him.

Yeah, he worked with Martin Luther King to help the civil rights movement and promoted gun safety. Then he got Alzheimer's.

Then he got Alzheimer's.

And no one dared to get close to his hands until now.

alzheimers is a cunt. i really wish i could kick michael moores bloated head in for that interview with heston. considering how much bullshit comes out of his head, and how much of his "documentaries" are in fact false, wouldnt really be a loss to see him bite the dust

It's funny because I probably care the least about pop-culture as anyone here. I just really wanted to make that joke.

Seriously, guys, this is such ooollllddd news, like seriously, you can't discuss things that have already been pointed out before, even if the pointing out was done somewhere else and a large percentage of you may have never even seen the news. C'mon guys, 24 hours = old. Seriously.

Seriously.

Easy to be a self-righteous prick with the defense mechanisms of a 14 year old? Yeah, I don't know how you pull it off. You're a goddamn genius.

(so easy)

Saying "omg I had you guys going!" when it's pointed out you're acting like a moron is -so- pathetic.

But just to play along.. yeah man, you got us! You got us good! We can't be "got" any better!

Now, go away and stop posting.

I've noticed that most of the problem is that there's so much stupid shit to get pissy at in the first place.

Anyway, yeah. Back to topic. Charelton Heston. He was alive. Now he's not. That kinda sucks.

Now that Charlton Heston has died, I would like to pick up the torch that he has clutched and wielded like a pack rat and a Christmas ornament. I would like to continue the right to bear arms cause, but with a twist.

Sure, the 2nd amendment gives us the right to bear arms, BUT it was written in a time where guns fired once and then you had to reload. While reloading a family of four could sit down and have a five course dinner. I say that we outlaw all firearms except for muskets, and on top of that we should issue every American citizen one. What about children? We treat them like we do foreigners: They have to wait until they are 14 to receive their musket. It would also make foreigners feel more at home: “Welcome to America, here’s your complementary musket!”

Having only muskets would greatly reduce drive by shootings. Have you seen how big a musket is? Try fitting five people and their muskets inside a Cadillac. Yeah, not preposterous at all. Plus they are inaccurate beyond belief. You know why the revolutionary armies always fought in line formation across from one another? It was like Russian Roulette: Chancy yet exhilarating. Not that I’m supporting anyone playing Russian Roulette. It would also cut down on school shootings. I can see it on the nightly news now:

“And today in Wisconsin a school shooting happened at Jefferson High School. It seems that the shooter brought in their musket, shot one student in the leg, and began to reload. He was then summarily beaten to death with desks by the other students in the classroom as he attempted to load more powder and ball into his musket.”

This is true. There's a joke to be made about him concealing weapons, but I'm too lazy.

Charlton Heston was a god. I fell in lust with him to no small extent in Ben-Hur. Dear me, that galley, those drumbeats, that sweat-bedewed brow and those tight, clenched bicepses... and that jaw of his. Heavens, have you noticed how his jaw bears a close resemblance to Schwarzy's?

Also, the Ten Commandments was good.
