Tomorrow morning at 11 (agh insanely early) have to hand in 5 pages (a total of 12,000 characters written) that were due.

One of the pages was simply a re-summary of a paper I wrote on statistics because the grading professor thought the paper wasn't academical or systematic enough. That was easy enough since I simply took the 3 page essay from before, took a new statistic and then condensed all the possible information into one page. No prob.

The real bitch was writing the 4 pages on Globalisation and Realism for a class I had only attended once, and with a textbook I had just bought today. However I think it went exceedingly fast considering I procrastinated until 1 am before I started.

Also of note, I got informed of both on the 15th and both are due on the 17th. They are a nice tradition called "48 hour essays" and are contingent on a person being able to pass the semester.

Now to make this article much more Josh like, it looks very likely like I'm going to lose my job or that they won't be able to accommodate the amount of hours I need. Other options for me are to take a 12 hour night shift once a week at another warehouse. Apply for a job where Phil works (although I don't think I could do that kind of work) or maybe apply for a student position at the foreign ministry, that would be a study-relevant job that I actually have some references for.

We'll see. Stupid peugeot.

oh and my laptop is falling apart before my eyes and it will be at least several months before I can save up for a new one.

I'm so glad I dont go to Uni (yet). Papers piss me off.
Could you take Tizz's old laptop? Having a laptop that shuts down every 30min is better than no laptop, no?

How are the grades though? It's very easy to pass as long as you submit any type of essay because usually half of your grade is for structure anyways, but don't you feel you want a higher grade?

What is wrong with your laptop? Mine had constant problems, but it's ok now. =\

I love doing papers at the last possible second. I feel as though I work better under immense pressure.

Nina, well my laptop still functions fine as a word processor. It's just the cd-drive no longer detects anything at all and other weird things happen sometimes.

Vlad, we don't get grades for essays. The only criteria is passed or not passed. We get grades for the semester-long project that we work on. It's a strange system. Some people take these essays very seriously though, despite being only passed or not passed. Losers.

Sam, you also feel better if you're able to do it in a short amount of time instead of wasting your free time worrying about it and spending way too much time on it.

Oh wow, your system is unlike any I've seen.

I think you just use that as a source of motivation, as do millions of other people who wait until the last possible second to do it. I recently began to work on my discipline (like the discipline to sit down and do my shit early), and though the results are slow to take effect, I still feel like I've progressed, if only by a little.

Five pages isn't too horrible.

I just finished my physics honors thesis the other day, that took a lot of fucking work -_-

It actually shuts down every 5 minutes, if it starts up at all. So it's really useable!
