Right after the gig at Rock for people, I decided to do this.
Iīve been waiting for that concert for too long and Iīm so glad that Iīve seen you guys live, finally. :D I was waiting for Offspring in front rows for like 6 or 7 hours and it paid off. Got to 2nd row. Couldnīt get to the 1st one, cause some fucking emoīs were in front of me, but they gave it up during the Offspring show.
The crowd was absolutely crazy and was pushing to the front more and more. I really fought that Iīm not gonna make it and that my bones will start cracking, damn people. The sardines in a can got more space than we had :D I was in that pressure over 2 hours.
Then they finally switched off the lights. And Americana started. The lights were slightly blue and it was Peteīs time, then Noodles and Greg came and right after them Dexter appeared. I will remember that moment my whole life, cause that I guess was the strongest impression of the gig. Like I said I was in a 2nd row, but wasnīt able to pick up my phone out of the pocket to make some pics, cause thereīs no space around me, not even for my hands.
Then Come out and play was played. Just classic. Everybody was enjoying that. Noodles really used his hair there. And he was jumping around the whole gig. Greg was calm like always and Dexter just did what he does best, singing and playing. After COAP came Hammerhead. And Iīm telling you guys, that song live is absolutely perfect and loud!
I donīt really remember the set-list in a row, but here are the songs from the oldest- Bad Habit, COAP, Self-esteem, Gotta get away, Gone away, All I want, Have you ever, Staring at the sun, Pretty fly, The kids arenīt alright, Walla Walla, Why donīt you get a job, Americana, Want you bad, Canīt get my head around you, Hammerhead, Half-truism and Youīre gonna go far kid. The Offspring were using different guitares for different songs, which were kinda interesting so see(guitares).
What surprised me is that they played so much of Americana. The expected S.M.A.S.H. songs(Self-Esteem was as a addition), 2 classic from IOTH, almost nothing from COO and Splinter and 3 new as Dexter said on stage. During the gig a lot of people gave up. They just couldnīt hold on. The firemen and medics were ready all the time and were providing water, which helped me a lots of times.
In the end Iīd like to say that Offspring are really cool guys. They were having fun, always laughing and jumping around, so no old dadies. Still plenty of energy(especially Noodles). So thank you for those 18 songs and for the gig after 7 years and see ya soon again! Thanx :D
