Haha, I'm the world's worst at interpreting lyrics and I knew it. I can't believe anyone would think it had anything to do with race relations. I disagree, though. I think Pretty Fly is way more misunderstood than COAP.

Also, I was seconds away from buying the remastered Smash at the mall the other day, but realized I left my debit card at home. :(

I always thought they lyrics to COAP were pretty self explanitory - "one guy's colours and the other's don't mix", like the gang colours, then with "one ends up in the morgue and the other jail". Seems pretty straightforward.

I think one of the fun parts of being a famous musician must be telling people multiple stories about where a song came from or what it's about that could all be equally plausible.

Yup. And I don't think the song itself is about Dexter beeing on the lab founding out that (hah!), just that he came up with the sentence "man, you gotta keep 'em separated!".
