My sophmore year of highschool, I was placed in this out of control art class with a whole slew of menacing, un inspired teenagers. It being an art class and all, I was operating under the assumption that it would be packed to the brim with cute artsy girls who could talk to me about radiohead. Instead I had to put up with the most annoying batch of drug dealers, baseheads and the teacher, mr norberg, who wasn't capable of controlling a class of 5 seniors, much less one with 35 deliquent beasts. Some funny things happened. A lot of funny shit happened in that class but one incident that sticks out was when this weedhead connor asked our teacher if he could draw a blunt for this big still life project we had to do. He was dead serious. The odd thing was that I seemed to be the only person in the room who thought something wasn't normal about connor's question.

So... what are some crazy classes that you guys have had to endure?

My sophmore english teacher was a nutjob. Everyone in my class was also in AP World History, so generally speaking, we were pretty well behaved. She hardly ever took up the assignments she gave us and on the rare occasion that she actually did take them up, she would never even look at them and just give us grades based on how much she liked us. At one point we were supposed to read All Quiet on the Western Front. No one did of course, but she insisted we watch the movie once we were 'done' reading the book. We must have played the movie four or five times. What happened was we kept rewinding it at the start of class "No, Ms Whatever the fuck her name was. We were farther back in the movie." One time we were sitting there and the credits started playing so someone got up, rewound it to the beginning and started it over. I still don't know what that book is about aside from the general subject of war.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I got an A in her class.

I took an AP Language and Composition class my senior year and it also happened to be held the last period of the day. The teacher was pretty young, late 20s I'd say. He'd often come in hungover, turn out the lights, make everyone sit in a circle with their heads on their desks, and just play Dark Side of the Moon. If you felt the need to say something, great...if not, great. We did (attempt to) read some classics, like Moby Dick, but we also read Hunter S Thompson and Rolling Stone articles and Denis Johnson. We also did a lot of our own writing and critiquing of each other. We were discussing offensive language in writing once and he just came out, "THE POPE TOOK A CUMSHOT TO THE FACE," followed by a long analysis of using such a line in writing. He was pretty awesome.

I had some classes that were ridiculous in the bad sense too, but I don't remember specifics for any particular class. My graduating class was dubbed the worst class to ever go through my school district, so there was a *lot* of stuff that used to happen.

My Math 50 class was a drag. I only passed it because I have taken Algebra before. The teacher, Mr. Singh, was an older dude when a very think indian accent, so understanding him was a chore in of itself. He was also very unreliable when it came to showing up for his class. The rule for no show teachers is we wait fifteen minutes after the class has started and if he hasn't shown up by then, we could go home, but we must leave a note with our names on it to show we arrived for that day's session. He did that at least 5 or 6 times. One other thing, which isn't very much a bad thing, but it annoyed a lot of people, is he only gave the homework for that day's class at the end of class session, basically forcing his students to stay for the whole class session, which was a difficult because he wasn't a very good teacher. He sucked at explaining things and whenever someone asked a question, he would only confused them more. They would have better luck asking another student.

Wow, that sounds like something out of "King Dork," only infinitely more awesome.
