I'd kill someone if the Offspring tried to play like Dragonfags. Don't get me wrong, I love me some metal... but those guys make me angry.

Anyway, it'd be awesome if the band still played solos like on S/T! But I think Noodles isn't as good as he used to be, or maybe he just doesn't care as much anymore (he messes up live more than he used to). Either way, I'd love to hear some solos if they could pull them off. The intro to "I'll Be Waiting" is such a nice solo... I'd love to hear more of that!

I am a big fan of metal music, and solos are obviously a vital part of that genre. Offspring are punk, so solos are not as essential for them. However, I do like the solos that are in their songs. The solo in "Feelings" is awesome, and Noodles plays some great leads in "I Choose" and "D.U.I.". Dexter can also solo, as he plays the one in "What Happened To You?". Not sure if he's played any others though! I like the fact The Offspring have solos in some of their songs, it makes them stand out from most other bands of their type. Longer solos? I don't really think that's necessary. More solos though....Id be all for that! :)

Don't dragonforce just layer loads of guitars in the studio to make them sound that hard - they probably can't play like that live.

Noodles just doesn't have the vocabulary on guitar to write ...say minute long or two minute long guitar instrumental sections, it just wont happen. Dragonforce have awful guitar players.

I wanted 2 say the same. When I heard TKAA and Feelings for 1st time, that's the day that I've started 2 listen The Offspring! :)

Best Offspring solo? When Noodles rocks the shit out of it on their cover of Sin City by AC/DC. So technically not one of their songs but it shows Noodles is definitely capable of melting faces. I say more solos please.

Iron Maiden has a long solos but boring. Example ; Porcupine Tree - No reason to live song. That song is 10 min. And it has full solo. but not boring.. If offspring will do it, that not to be boring solos.

Besides i think the kids arent alright song has best solo :)

Matter of opinion to anyone anyway, but for sure, they don't need to riddle their albums with guitar solos, but a few more would be nice, I think we can all agree we dug the few extra ones on the first two albums right? Not saying leaving them out has been particularly gut-wrenching either, but they can do them, and they can do them well, and as their career went on they phased them out, they could do more well, and it would add to the music.

But seriously, Dragonfags guitar players are truely, truely awful live, if they could do what they do on their albums, then I would yeild, because whats heard on there is pretty great metal lead guitar, but they simply cant do it, studio magic all the way. They've been ridiculed to death, so I won't add more to it, but listening to them without the studio magic is just hard to stand.

I think that Pay the Man is a really cool psychedelic punk long ass song, with a lot of cool riffs. More of those kind of songs and solos would be cool, cause Offspring always experiment with new souds and maybe a long ass solo/song would not be a bad idea. Just my opinion.

Yeah, but they can't just say to themselves: "Hey, let's make another song like Pay The Man!"... I mean, a long song with experimentation would be great and awesome and everything, but it just cannot be in the exact same vein as Pay The Man.. who knows, they might do something new and even awesome-er!
