Or anything strange like that? Are they hard to keep?
My ex-best friend had worms.
I'm so freaky tonight.

No that was George Clooney, I don't know him that well.
The dude your talking about, had a "potbelly pig" (literally translated from dutch, so it prolly doesn't make sense). Don't call'm pigs though, they are offended when you call'm pigs.
@Sim: Remember that you have to give the snake live mice!

Do you have any idea if a suicidal snake eats itself? You know, like, starts to eat it's own tail?

Ok you're begging for it....
Yes, I have my snake for a pet. I play with it very often.
This topic gets more hilarious by the second.

Oh Oh! In my old neighboorhood there was a family with two pigs too. They were sooo awesome. They didn't have those big pigs, but small ones, about the size of a regular dog. And they didn't really smell bad. Too bad some fucks tortured the poor animals to death... They ran around loose in the neighboorhood, cause pigs can be really tame.
Btw, where's Ken lately? Haven't seen him online in a looong while.

Vlad, stop giving me mental images.

You're short enough. Most snakes could comfortably rest on your shoulders.

They can rest anywhere else too, for that matter.

It's not what YOU meant, it's what I meant.
It's a communication theory thing, the reciever assigns a meaning to the message that may not have been the original intention of the sender... Nanana. We've had communicatiewetenschap today, and got bored to Hell. Great subject, sucky teacher. Not going anymore.

Oh thank you. I've been reading on that a lot lately.
Read about Humboldt's 'energeia'. That is just so nice about how we capture reality differently with different languages. All these books make me so 'professionally deformed'. *cries* Shut me up!
But you still know what I really meant. So!
Snakes are inspiring. Especially because some people find them scary. They'd just make such amiable animals, better than the neighbour's cat.

Iza, do you realize that we've just made ourselves sound like those retard pseudo-intellectuals on this board?
Anyways, so someone tell me how often they have to eat. Because it's not like I wanna go mice-hunting that often.

If I remember correctly from Road Trip (ah the things this movie taught me!), snakes eat mice once a week.

I had a garden snake, but we had to let it go because it was wild. and we let it go in a desert like area near our house. I had a mouse, but it was biting it's ear off, and we had to let it go. I had a poisonous spider, but my brother let it go. I caught a praying mantis once, it was beautiful and calm. I wanted to keep it as a pet, but my teacher made me let it go. I want a pet Anaconda, but I don't think it's legal. I wanted a cute baby shark I saw in a pet store once, but then I realized it would grow bigger and there would be no room for it. Also, it was expensive.

I used to have a ball python. They're incredibly simple to take care of. Seriously, they eat and poop like once a month. All you need to do is give them a heating pad/rock and they'll be happy.

if your snake was able to turn your arm blue, you must have the weakest circulatory system ever. They're not strong enough to do that to most people, nor do they typically try to constrict people. They do tend to wrap around for warmth, but that's as far as it goes.

I always wanted a ball python, but my dad is terrified of snakes, so that idea never got off the ground. I brought home a wild snake once, but only kept it one night before it escaped into our walls (to the utter terror of my dad).
My family also had a couple green iguanas for some years, about two feet long each, those made very cool pets, but you supposedly had to wash your hands after each time you handled them.

Heh, your Dad sounds like my Mum. She'd freak.
And damn, iguanas are awesome. They seem very calm but I've seen one get rather angry. Haha.

I had a snake, it was quite boring, very easy pet... small snakes don`t eat much, and don`t eat often. they just need an aquarium and some place where they can swim.
most of the time they`re hiding somewhere or staying still...

I just kept my snake in an empty aquarium. Easy to handle.
