Under albums, KTP is not under 'The Offspring' album. This is a song that has been cut from the albums since 9/11 but shouldnt the official site allow it?

damn, why do they do that?? does this mean they are gonna cut 'tehran' too??
Yeah, the new print of S/T doesn't have it. I think the print was released in 2001 or around it and the song was probably removed the current political situation.
I don't necessarily agree with it getting removed because it basically critisizes a completely different president, as it was released in 1989. But I guess removing it is better than getting into trouble.

How the fuck would they get in trouble if they left it on the album or not? Name one band that has criticized the government and got into trouble if they have "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" what a lie.
Fallen.

This is utter bullshit.
I'm really disappointed and i hope the band themselves could do nothing about these "policies".
Im actually really offended by this, i might be being uptight, but Offspring are THE band for me, and i put a lot of faith in them, the music is very personal to me, and for this kinda shit to happen its a kick in the face.

Well, it could have been the record company's decision. I don't know how "the fuck" they could get into trouble and I seriously doubt it but the atmosphere in the USA was what it was at the time.
Plus I consider there to be a great difference between saying, "I don't agree with Bush's politics" and "kill the president!".

People have gotten into serious trouble for saying a lot less, under the current P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act and Homeland Security provisions. I don't blame the band at all for pulling that track from the albums and from the website because it puts them at personal risk.
To everyone who's upset about this violation of the spirit of the First Amendment, though not the letter of current legal code, please get in contact with your local representatives. And if you're over 18 and registered to vote, please PLEASE make a point of getting to your local polling place on Tuesday to vote Kerry.

Probably because the liability gets passed on to them as well.

I doubt they will cut tehran. Its not directed at anyone in the US government or any other government for that matter. Its not directed at anyone in particular except Iran. Its just about some battle in Irans capital that I dont think ever happened. (correct me if im wrong). Sure there are some parts about burning flags and soldiers being killed but I think the lyrics to this song are made up to describe to listeners what war is like. (again correct me if im wrong) Now, if this song is cut off the track for some odd reason, then that will be pretty sad.

Tehran is just a general anti-war song, in my opinion.

I have it too since 2000, but I had to buy it again 2 months or so ago because mine was all scratched. I found one with Kill The President on it, I would not buy it without that song.

Whichever way you look at it it's only a song, okay, it an offensive song, but like another poster said it's a compleltly different president but at the same time the title doesnt specify which, if you know what mean.
KTP Rocks :D

The decision to remove KTP from the album is a very sound decision, given that despite it being about a different president, it could be seen as a very anti-government song, plus, in the aftermath of 9/11, if someone went and actually tried taking a potshot at the president and blamed it on the song, the courts are just going to see the title and go against The Offspring, based mainly on that.

The Dixie Chicks, Sinead O'Connor just to name a couple. This board already got into trouble with KTP.

just remember that in reality...we dont have freedom of speech. Well we do until the point of time where a vast majority of people will listen to us and COULD be influenced by what we have to say.

Freedom of speech doesn't matter when it comes to sensitivity. For instance, racists are technically allowed to display their hate-filled messages out for the world to see, but do you really want to listen to them? Just after 9-11, keeping an obviously anti-American song on the album wouldn't have been very prudent of the Offspring to do.
However, it's been three years now. I think it's okay to put it back.

I agree KTP being cut is a smart decision so as not to offend anyone in the current political atmosphere.
I guess the original cut of the s/t album is going to be kinda a collectors item in a way.
I bought mine back in like 99.
God... I feel like one of the old offspring fans now (6 years of being a loyal fan). My favorite album is still Ignition.

According to Wikipedia, the song was removed in June 2001, so it wasn't because of September 11 unless The Offspring are clairvoyant. Still doesn't say why it was removed.

Clairvoyance in songs is fun. Better than Ezra had a song with "Sweet dreams, New Orleans, Mississippi River runnin' over me" in it that was released a few months before the hurricane that broke the levies.
