i like greenday, iv liked them since dookie and iv grown up with them. but im so tired of hearing about them. they are everywhere. everyone talks about them, they are on TV on the radio everyday. i hate it. its so fucking annoying!!!! i want them to fucking die!!!!

Yes. Keep the music, throw the band away. There's no more Dookie left in them (no pun intended), so they don't need to be releasing more. I'll always love Dookie, though.

Dammit, people. Everytime when someone likes a less known band, they're like 'Oh, why aren't they more popular and famous? They deserve to be!' but when the band finally gets its recognision and become more popular, they're like 'Wtf, they're popular and everyone listens to them. I hate them. They suck'

Word of advice; Don't listen to the radio. There are hardly any good songs on the popular stations. Green Day is one of the rare good bands that gets played on radio a lot.
They were about this popular around Dookie, maybe even more so. They've just released a successful album, of course they're "everywhere". If you want to listen to music that isn't everywhere, listen to more underground music. Green Day are popular. Green Day are famous. If you can't handle that, I'm very sorry. It's not a very good reason to dislike the music.

Then stop listening to them. I like Green Day. But I am getting tired of Boulevard of Broken Dreams but whenever it somes on I change it! So stop complaining!!!

i still like greenday. and i dont think they sold out. and i think there new album is very good. and im glad there having great success but im just saying im tired of hearing about them its so fucking annoying. im sick of all the songs on the radio and stuff and on tv.

Yep. That's how it is these days. And Green Day is loving every minute of it, soaking up the spotlight, viewing themselves as rock's saviors and political spokesmen and the voice of a generation. Frankly, it's revolting. I've had enough of their art-rock pretensions, and their singles have ranged from mediocre to truly awful (Boulevard of Broken Dreams, anyone?). All you can do is sit and wait for them to slowly fade away...which at this pace should take a while.
I still think dissing Green Day is very 1996.

They make good music, but now, as you said, they're everywhere! Now there's people liking Xzibit and Green Day. And I hate hip hoppers! They should stick to hip hop and shouldn't take "our" music! I really can't stand liking the same music as them.
I like Green Day. And its not because MTV are telling me to either.

Yes, but you must admit that it's more "fun" to like a group that's not so popular.
Only to see them at a smaller venue where the interaction is better.

Greenday sucks! I think Offspring, Goldfinger and Sum 41 is the best punkbands.
Greenday are to popular and there new songs they had done sucks.

I say that if theres gonna be such a thing as a trend, mtv, or the billboard charts, i prefer Greenday and other punk/rock bands be number 1 then all those useless lame pop artists! The more Greenday and other similar bands take over, the less Britney Spears I have to put up with it!So fuck, yeah, i want Greenday to get even more publicity, i hope Offspring reaches the same status and the same for all bands out there who rock!!!!!!!!!!

green day are hardly just a band that got lucky are they?! fair enough, they did sign to a major label when at the time it was frowned upon, but with their music it was only gonna be a matter of time before they hit the big time!
i, like everyone else am getting a bit sick of them being everywhere you turn and think american idiot is overated but i do feel they deserve to be where they are today!

I`ve never been any huge fan of green day, but I don`t think they deserve all this inveigh..they`re as close to pop music as offspring is today.
they actually have much much more sense in their music nowadays, it sure is less punk, but so what since it sounds ok. you just get different kind of kicks from it..
they`re not irreplaceable, some other bands will give us what they used to give.

I think they got popular from Dookie, now there played too much, all i ever see on the music channels is green day, dont get me wrong, i really really like them, but, i wish they would go back to how they were, all they are now are pop icons. Still, i'm going to see them in June, and i cant wait :D
