I might sound like a asshole now to you but Gothic rocks, and I really think nightwish stands and leads it.... Agree or disagree with a reason ;) and for those like me that like polls :) there is one...

Gothic? Hardly. They're still the coolest band to have ever existed though.

;) yeah, that must it be, they can laugh and have a good time, they don't think about dead all the time, so that makes nightwish not gothic.. damn...

Tuomas Holopainen's too hot to be stereotyped anyway. And Marco & Jukka are pirates. Pirate metal then, maybe?

What the hell is pirate metal, that sound just as terible as dead metal and thrash metal, and I very much hope/think you didn't mean that... Whaha, about tuomas "I have the same feeling about tarja turunen ;)"... but it stays about the music, and if bands like after forever are the real goths out there I surely lost my eye on gothic, so bands like visions of atlantis, within temptation and lacuna coil aren't gothic to.... Damn this is going to change my whole mind :confused:

I just made Pirate Metal up. On account of Jukka always wearing a bandana, and the feeling I have that Marco would look so natural with a parrot on his shoulder. His beard is very pirate-like. Tarja's pretty, but Tuomas is one of those guys who can pull off eyeliner and look amazingly hot. So he wins over Tarja any day. Even though I'm a guy.

Dunno about those other bands; I haven't listened to them enough. Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil kick ass though.

you like boy's and girls? :confused:, but within temptation's sound looks a lot on nightwish's sound...

But making up genres... When will metal-people finnaly stop doing that?

No, I'm pretty straight, but I'd have to be blind and/or a liar to deny that Tuomas Holopainen's hot. And yes, I agree, so many damn metal genres. I think the main thing that makes Within Temptation and Nightwish different are the vocals. I don't believe the vocalist to Within Temptation (sorry, can't remember her name) can sing the lower stuff like Tarja.

Nightwish is great and I love their music, althought they're not gothic. Violet Stigmata is gothic. London After Midnight is gothic. The Crüxshadows is gothic. Nightwish is not.

i agree. the rasmus are very gay. nighwish got a couple of good songs and theyre definately better than the darkness... and its cool to see a finnish band doing good around the world... :P
