I got Iron Maidens latest album Dance of Death today...Great songs...There's just one thing: on the front it's a note saying: Copy Controlled. That means you can't play it on a computer and then not copy, rip, the music. I can see why they want it to be that way because of all the file sharing programs (Kazaa, DC++ etc.). But I don't have any of those and wont publish the music on the internet. I really want to be able to copy the songs to my computer, because that's when I have time to listen to my albums (now I'm listening to The Ripper with Judas Priest). And doesn't all the members in Maiden have enough mony now? Thank god for Offspring, they have their whole albums on their own website and would never make a cd that's copy controlled.

Copy controlled is not good.I would not only have to buy the CD but the entire album from iTunes if I want to have it on my computer. Why should I spend an extra $10?

Velvet Revolver did the same, when the cds played in the computer its played like 2ce 1 second off from the other. So it sounds like its spazzing out as it plays... Really blows.

there are bands enough for that, but you know coke costs loads of money. :p

Just got an idea. My mp3-player (that's broke, but still can record) can record things with line-in, and yesterday I downloaded a program to separate tracks (Wavepad). So I'll just record the whole album with line-in and then upload the album to my computer and separate the songs! Hope it'll work...

It is. All I have to do is start the recording and perhaps check the battery then just wait for about an hour.

Well now you finnaly can listen to a cd you bought. Damn.. You pay E8,99 or something for a cd of iron maiden (they have so much cd's so the chops put a low-price on all of their stuff so the collecter can collect them all, otherwise it would be to difficult) and you can only listen to it after trying fucking hard to get it on your computer. Damn these music-industries, We pay money for it so we don't want to work to much for it >>> YOU HEARD ME?? ;)
push and hold the shift button while you put the cd in. It temporarily disables auto-run and prevents the copy protection program from being installed on the computer. Then you should be able to open it through a media player. Unless they have a new version of copy protection that I'm not aware of.

Some program have dissabled autorun already, so I don't need to hold down shift. The first time I put it in it worked and was able to rip one song, but then the program (wmp 10, but I tried with others after) crashed.

I was able to play it in my stereo, but as I said, it's when I sit by the computer I really have time to listen to my cds.
