I'm bored so I'm just wondring if anyone else is taking any AP tests this week. I'm taking the AP English Language test tomorow. I don't think I could handle four hours of test taking.

Ah, I was fucking misserable today. The multiple choice raped me and told me to bend over so it could give it to me from the behind. I swear, those passages didn't make any sence. I was like WTF?. The 3 essays in those 2 hours weren't too bad though. I finished like 20 minutes early.
In wednesday, I'm taking AP Spanish Language. Heh, I don't know that much spanish which is why I'm fucked. Next year I'm taking four Ap classes so I don't know how I'll manage.
AP test, what are they?
Ap classes are college level courses that are taken in high school. Around the end of the year you take an AP test to prove that you understood the subject. If you pass, you will get credit in college for taking that class.
haha, i'm so glad to have those well behind me.
Was it hell for you too?

AP stands for advanced placement.
Im not in any AP classes, but every single one of my friends is in AP European, and they hate it, because they have to work so hard to get mediocre grades. I'm just chillin' and getting 90s in my Global History class. how funny...

I took the APLAC exam last year....the multiple choice were incredibly easy, and so were the first 2 essays. Everyone in my class that took the test was like "wtf?" over the third one.
I, too, am glad I am done with those.
I'm not in any AP classes, but in a few weeks I have to endure 6 hours of testing, so feel lucky, you little punk (not an insult on this site, but anyway).

Next year I'm taking Ap Stats or Calc, Ap Chem or Physics, Ap Art History, Ap Spanish Lit, and Ap English Lit. I should probably rethink this. It might be too much to handle.

Standardised testing always freaks me out. Something about rows and rows of desks, and timing, and complete silence freaks me out. I almost had to leave an exam hall once because I was shaking so much.
GCSE's. Ugh.

Hah I owned the AP's pretty hard. Junior year I took English Composition and American History and got a 5 and a 4 respectively. Senior year I took Calculus, English Language, Human Geography, Physics, and European History. I got 5, 5, 5, 4, 4 respectively.

i wouldnt know, like i said, im the only one in just regular global. My friends in AP euro have to write so many essays and sh*t, and they get so much homework.
im trying to get in AP american next year. I was pretty good at regular american history.

some of the questions where interesting, actually kept me on my toes a tad.
i got double five on the physics c (that's calculus based, yo) (it's two tests, mechanics and e&m), double five on calc bc (that is, calc 2) (they include an 'ab' subscore), and a four in chem.

Yeah, it freaks me out too. Aside from being completely uncomfortable, they prove absolutely nothing and are fundamentally fucked up.
My last experience was with the SATs, which I took for the first time last January. I took them so recently because I never took 'em in high school, as I dropped out. Fucking ridiculous bullshit test that again proved nothing, but I did well on it, especially for someone who has not been in high school for 5 years and did not study.

I know ppl will think I'm a freak for thinking this (well boo hoo -like I care! ),but I kinda miss exams,as they gave me something to aim for! The last two years of my life I've been so aimless and lacking in achievement that exams would be a welcome change, despite all the stress that comes with them. I never used to mind exams once I was in the actual exam room. Once I'd started writing,I was fine. The only thing that used to piss me off slightly was being hungry towards the end and my tummy rumbling!

yeah i have the AP literature test this thursday. Then next monday, i have the AP music theory test, and wednesday is the AP Government test.
the tests arent so bad if you had good teachers throughout the year. unfortunately, for AP music theory, we have this bad teacher, we havent even finished learning everything we need, and the test is in less than a week.
good luck to everyone who is taking AP test these next two weeks!

It's funny how my teachers stressed the importance of not talking about the test after taking it. They made it seem as if some FIB agent would come out of nowhere breaking down my door with a gun in their hand and take me away to a far away place to beat me up if I talked about the test.

Talking about the test after taking it is always a good thing. It's the way that one of my friends found out that, out of three questions, you only had to answer one.
Turns out he'd answered all 3.

Does anyone else here finish any test way too fast? I always have full period (45 minute) tests, and I always, no matter how difficult, finish the test in 20 minutes.

I always talk about tests after taking them. The thing is that it's "illegal" to talk about the AP test right after taking it for some reason.

Well, it's a time test. You can't change your answer once it's done.
It's funny how the AP tests are scheduled all over the US. Since each test is exactly the same and are taken in the same day for every State, the tests are are scheduled in such a way that it's impossible to ask for someone from another state for the answer. It's taken extremely seriously. Each AP test costs 80 bucks. If something goes wrong and it jeopardizes the integrity of the test, everybody has take take it over in the summer and the 80 bucks isn't refunded. If one person complains about the testing environment after the test is done, the score of everybody who took the test is made absolete.

I'm guessing he would complain anonymously the next day. Last year, some guy was caught cheating during some AP test so everybody had take it over again and pay another 80 dollars. I could only image how the kid faced his peers the next day.

Actually, sometimes tests have to be taken different days at different schools. Last year, one of the Calc tests and the Human Geography tests were scheduled for the same time slot...and there were around 20 people in my school who were planning on taking both. Due to the conflict, the AP test company was contacted and my school was given permission to reschedule the Geography exam for the "make-up week" that is used for conflicts. We were given the same test that was given the week before....hence why you are not supposed to talk about the test after it is given.

Obviously I'm not old enough to take AP classes, but tomorrow I am taking a Science placement test which if I pass, I'll skip into 10th grade Science (Biology). And I already took and passed the test into 9th Grade Honors English. Aaaand, I took a placement test for math, Integrated II which I'm still awaiting response from.

Are you absolutely certain it was the same exam? I had to take the human geo test on the conflict date and it was a different exam.
The reason you're not allowed to discuss the exam is because the multiple choice questions are only released every 4 years. It's hard to come up with good multiple choice questions, so if they were always released right after the exam, people would figure out a pattern rather quickly. Essays and the written parts of calculus and physics are given back several days after the exam date and can be discussed in class.

if you take the make up test instead of during the scheduled day, they do give you a different, harder test. the rationale behind it is that even though youre not supposed to talk about the test after, kids do anyways. so they give the different test.

Hah! The makeup exam is not harder. My ex took the makeup US history exam junior year and got a 5. I think only 1 person out of the rest of the class got a 5 on the regular exam.
Likewise, the makeup geography exam was very very easy. I had enough time to write "penis penis penis penis penis penis vagina vagina vagina vagina vagina" on the page after i was done and cross it out with a thin line.

It had the date/time the exam was *supposed* to be given on all the materials. Unless that was a mistake in printing. *shrug*

I know based on the material that the two tests were different. The first one had something about poultry and the makeup did not.

Am I glad I live in the U.K.?! Jeez, there was one girl in one of my G.C.S.E. exams who sat and talked all the way through the exam and tapped on the desk with her ruler the whole time. The teacher supervising the exam was basically an idiot who didn't have the guts to actually discipline anyone,so he didn't do anything about it. I complained to one of the other teachers afterwards though. There's no way you can NOT complain about something like that. I fucked up a whole question on that exam because of that girl. :(
