I'd say their cover of semisonic's closing time is the best performed in concert and basket case is by far the best song green day's ever produced. Boulevard of Broken Dreams really captured my heart before it was slaughtered by stupid know-nothing-about-any-of-the-bands-we-play DJs. I mean I could relate before I got annoyed with the radio. QUESTION******* :confused: American Idiot (the album) do you think it was a turn for the better or growing up too fast from definite green day territory??? :confused:

What's changed about the song itself that you can't relate to it anymore?
A deaf person could have heard that was going to be a single. Hell, a dead person could have heard it.

Does Boulevard of Broken Dreams really count as a ballad? It's close, but it's just a slow song, unlike WMUWSE. Same goes for When I Come Around. I think Wake Me Up When September Ends is their best because it has a certain feeling to it, much like The Offspring's Gone Away.

I haven't heard Green Day do a decent ballad yet. Decent ballads tend to be like 7 minutes long with loads of orchestra.

Thanks for the correction, but BOBD is not a ballad. Like I said, it's a slow song, but it doesn't have that certain "I don't know what" that makes it a ballad.
