Any ideas appreciated.
I don't understand the question: you are asking how to put on weight?

if your looking to gain weight, then the best way to do it would use weight gainers, are you looking to put on muscle? or what?

I don't understand the question: you are asking how to put on weight?
Yup, exactly that.
And no, not muscle. I'm working on that already.
Don't be a fool, weight gainers are fucking shit. They will cause you type II diabetis to cause of the maltodextrin. Further taking in 600 extra calories a day isn't hard so you need to resort to mass gainers.

then eat fish (tuna, salmon) atleast thats what i find puts on weight, short of pigging out on junk food and unneccessary food like that
McDonalds will work too

Try wisterol. Then people will be able to give your clitoris deepthroat.
You gotta understand something. You may think your thin, the doc may tell you're thin, you may be out in that wall chart. But there's not much you can do about that if you already have a high enough body fat%.
The thing about putting on weight when you have a normal bf% and don't want it to be muscle is that it will just increase your bf% and you'll look fat.
The only way to gain decent weight is muscle, and if you're a girlie girl and don't like muscle gain some extra fat with it too
From the pics I've seen of you, esp. your arms you look like you have a normal bf%. So only thing to do is put on muscle and fat at equal rates.
You got access to a gym?

I'm NOT on weight gainers. Ick.
Fish? I haven't hear that one.
Thank you, Justin. Sounds uh exciting. Maybe I always wanted someone to give me a proper blowjob.

That's equally as unehalthy. Tinned tuna's a good source of protein tho. So are protein shakes.

That was more insightful, thanks. I've been dropping for a few months, probably due to the stress even though I eat 3-4 meals a day.
I can't be arsed to go to a gym. But working out at home is alright.

pasta, white bread, potatoes... carbs? i suppose.
HAHAHAH carbs to put on mass.
You need protein. Carbs fuel your work outs and your everday life. Protein builds the mass.
Eat smaller meals around 6-7 times a day. And when you work out at home what exercises do you do? Do a weight you can only do 10-12reps with. Do 4 sets of them. Good mass gaining exercises are the bench press, squat and deadlift.
But I'm guessing you don't have a bench. Next best thing would be to get one of those fitness balls and chest press on that.

HAHAHAH carbs to put on mass.
If that's so funny and ridiculous, then why most weight loss plans advocate eliminating excess carbs from your diet, and see bread/pastries/pasta as the root of all evil? I don't suppose it makes you exactly LOSE weight, does it?
Because carbs fuel your body. If you eliminate carbs your body metabolises excess fat for fuel. Not to mention to fuel your other metabolic functions. Atkins is an unhealthy diet.
If you wanted to put on plenty of fat, sure load up on carbs. But you'd be..... fat. It woudln't look good. The only way to put on weight while mainting your figure is muscle, since it's denser. If you're gaining mass and eat too many crabs you just become fat.

i didn't say carbs help you gain muscle, i said they help you gain weight. fat weight, but still.

i don't like muscle. stupid muscle's made me put on nearly a stone.
When someone asks to gain wait they are rarely asking to become a fat slob. But I stand corrected if you said it to put on fat.
And JaG AS IF you put on a stone of muscle. wtf were you doing?

Plantains, yucca, rice and beans, cheeseburgers, and Toblerone bars, apparently.
All I ever see pigs eating is like some sort of gruel. Surely they can't eat a lot of this gruel?

lord knows. sit-ups, running, nothing much to do with weights. to be fair, i was about a stone and a half underweight to begin with. i don't know how that's relevant, but i'm gonna guess that it is.
Hmmm how old are you again? 18ish right, maybe it's just becoming a woman and all. Or perhaps the boobs?
Just a Girl
05-26-2005, 04:57 PM
haha, it's definitely not my boobs. and i don't think it's anything to do with age, i put on a bit of weight around 15ish and then it just went again. so it'd seem odd if it was happening again. and i'm thinner now than when i started at the gym so i don't think i've been putting weight on from anything else. i was prolly just incredibly scrawny to begin with.
I think you should whore up some more pics in photoalbum of the aforementioned breasts.

Still trying to find out? I'm afraid I cannot share that information, unless you want to experience it yourself.

my god Dush, anything that is beyond the limit of what you burn during the day will become body-fat.
-anything-. carbs, fat & proteins. I'm am NOT going to explain the citrus cycle/Kreb cycle/beta oxydation cycle/etc, because I hate that fucking material to death, but I can assure you that not only an egg, but a bunch of sandwitches can make you gain weight. anything in the end can be used for liposynthesis. sure you need proteins, because they provide you the amino-acids you need for building cells, but you need everything & more of everything if you want to gain weight.
in fact, I have an example. I weighed 57 kg when I signed myself up for my studentclub. during the period that you become a member, you don't get to sleep much & you have to do pretty hard physical work. before I joined the studentclub I worked out about two hours a day, so my muscles & condition were in okay shape. we were forced to eat eight sandwitches a day & drink a bottle of water, because in the past people had fainted from lack of energy & fluids. after the first week I gained 5 (!!) kgs. just from eating sandwitches, because normally.. I hardly ever eat sandwitches.
you are certainly not in the position to laugh here. seriously. what do you know? you've read a couple of magz, you've trained your butt off, you've took your daily proteins, but are -you- effectively gaining weight? NO. you constantly bitch about your skinniness & it doesn't surprise me at all, if you have no clue about how the body works.
Edit: I just saw how you said carbs don't build muscle; guess what, you're contradicting yourself. you just said yourself that carbs fuel your body. carbs are the easiest to burn & give the most energy. if you use that energy well, by working out a little, or even riding your bike half an hour a day, it is perfectly able to help you build muscles. Atkins is unhealthy, yes. but only eating proteins.. man, isn't that just another translation of Atkins? he said to seperate carbs, fat & proteins. if you want to weigh less, you'll really have to eat less of all. if you want to gain weight, you'll really have to eat more of all. it's real simple. REAL simple. (but the theory about it is not, grr)

Eat your normal 3 meals a day + atleast 2 of one of these 3 every day after 19.00 (worked for me!):
*Apfel im Schlafrock
*Berliner
*Würstchen in einer Teighülle
All written in sexay german and do it for a couple weeks, guaranteed succes!

Carbs do not bulid muscle anywhere near as well as protein. This is fact. They may fuel your work out, they help the process of building mass. But to advocate eating more carbs to put on weight is termed 'dirty'. It adds lots of fat that you do not need. Proteins or BCAA's are the building blocks of tissue volumisation, or muscle increase. Of course carbs help secondarily to build muscle because they are indirectly used for energy, thus the body is able to use this energy to destroy muscle tissue so it rebuilds the next day bigger.

What are you talking about? The ONLY reason I don't gain weight is I don't eat properly all the time. When I do I make huge gains. I've put on 36lbs since December. I constantly stop working outs cause work gets the better of me and takes up my time, I then loose my appitite thus eat less. Now when I do have the time I'm making pretty big gains by following the simple formula: carbs to fuel work outs, protein to bulid muscle.
Further when I bitch about my skinnyness, i will still bitch when I'm at the weight I wanna be because it's everything to do with the base you start out with - things you cannot build on i.e. bones etc. This argument is akin to the naturally big guy telling me I don't know how to eat/train cause I'm smaller than him, ad homium. He is merely bigger cause of his genetics. Not his diet/workout.
And I've read more than a coupel of mags, doesn't take a bio degree to understand how the body works ;-) I've read a fair deal of papers on hytroprohy etc. I'd submit that docs really don't know what they're talking about. YOu go to a doc, they look at some lame ass chart and tell someone they're underweight when they're perfectly healthy, have a high enough bf% and show no signs of anything bar genetically being tiny. They're 'prescription' is sometimes just to 'eat more' and other times they actually give a mass gainer. wtf!
To advocate eating carbs to gain muscle is ridicilous, if you wanna get fat fine have a huge carb meal right before bed time.
What I'm not saying here is that carbs do not help in muscle building, of course they are important as is fat, glutamine, protein etc. etc. I'm merely laughing at the fact that someone who wanted to put on weight was told to eat lots of carbs. That would just make one fat. There is no way a girl like sim could burn those excess carbs, they would just become fat without an increase in protein intake at a higher level. And working out even more. But she don't wanna become some gym freak.
Edit: in other words my advice in responce to Sim putting on weight was thus:
1) She's not underweight despite what the charts say, form her pics she looks like she has enough fat
2) She doesn't wanna get any fatter
3) The only way to put on weight that will maintain her looks is put on muscle and fat at the same rates, thus increasing weight while maining the same physique just looking 'bigger'
If she was some skinny girl who was annorexic then sure eat a ton. But she's not, she says she eats a lot anyway. Eating more carbs would be junk weight. Which I've repetaed a million times.

you sure go a long way to prove a point
even more than "Joy" did when she stuck up for avril
It's easy to prove your point when you are entirely correct.
It's easy to prove your point when you are entirely correct.
it took you mighty long, though.
I'll never allow you saying doctors don't know what they're talking about. some are so busy, they indeed do spend too little time to find out what's really going on. some are anti-social & just can't communicate with their patients, which causes miscomunication & no understanding of the matter the patient is struggling with. some, some, SOME. but in the end they've all studied ten years to get where they are. in the end they do certainly know everything they need to know for their profession. in the end they'll always know what they're talking about & they'll know it better than about anyone else. I don't know what kind of docs you have over there, but over here.. even though I've encountered the most terrible doctors.. they'll always get my respect. even if it's only because they chose the profession they did, because there aren't many people that would want to deal with sick people every goddam day again.
& as I said; I'm not going to start explaining how it works. too goddam long & tiring. plus I have an exam in a couple of minutes. all I'll say, is that you don't eat enough carbs & you remotely work out, you'll get a metabole accidose. you need the energy. as you said, carbs indirectly form muscle & they can certainly add a healthy amount of fat, in case your body-fat percentage is too low.
So we are in agreement? It didn't sound like it ;-)
Good luck with your exam!
When I say 'docs' I am refering to GP's. You konw the type you go to when you have the flu or whatever. IMHO "a jack of all trades a master of none". Obviously a specialist would be good. Like when I had acne, I knew more than my doc about it. I thought that was pretty insane, but then I realised I've read way more into it than he ever has cause he's isn't a specialist.

*giggles* Sexay German indeed. Yup, I always eat after 19.00. I pig out even at midnight or 2am before going to bed. No effects visible yet.
Brilliant advice passed down from generation to generation:
"Drink a milkshake with your meals and work out"
Milkshakes have lotsa calories, lots of calcium, decent amount of protein (considering it's a drink and not food) and fat. You get everything you need, plus the exercise to help balance the fat/muscle stuff that I saw RXP was talking about before I got bored and stopped reading replies to this thing.
