could someone please explain to me DHTML?

i don't do that sort of thing, but from what i understand it's basically using html+javascript+css in a page to make it interactive.

yeah I think it's something that makes a web page different everytime you look at it, like the stock exchange or something, and you don't have to update it

from what i know about the web backend, you'd be better off with php.

actually, it looks like they do different things.

dhtml does stuff more like flash or embedded java applets, whereas php is more for real-time data or database interfacing.
