I like some Deep Purple, and some Metal - a few Stone Sour/SOAD/one or two Slipknot songs, and Metallica are fucking wicked. Apart from that, I am not into that stuff since there is too much shouting/screaming.

Wrong. Party Animals blends their punk elements with classic rock; i.e. what's considered metal. It's their most metal cd. Their earlier albums are more punk. I should add that "Blow Me (Like The Wind)" and "City Of Satan" sound very KISS-like. KISS were a metal band in their day. Turbonegro's sound has embraced classic rock more than ever on Party Animals. Classic Rock back then was known as metal. So yeah, maybe Turbonegro might not be a "metal" band, but they are a punk band with some classic rock elements in the mix. However, Party Animals is their most metal cd, as it is the cd where they embrace that classic rock feel the most.

Ooooh, I would love some education on HALF the bands that you guys are into... SWEEEEEDISH METAL sounds cool...

I love your standard heavy shit (not sure if all of them are exactly classed as 'metal' but who cares?): Sabbath, Metallica, System of a Down, Pantera Sepultura, Iron Maiden, Rage Against the Machine... are Queens really metal??

Edit: noticed someone put Mars Volta, wouldn't have personally said metal... but I like them too.

Thanks for the welcome, Aimeth.

So SOME of you are into a little heavier sound... That's nice to know.'

What bands are under the label of "metal" is a long discussion...

Info about some of the most popular swedish bands can be found on http://www.swedishmetal.net

Yeah, I agree that Party Animals has a huge classic rock feel to it. I guess I just never considered that metal, but I see what you mean with that. Although I still say Hot Cars is their most metallic cd, as it's got a lot of their heaviest, darkest material on it.

awesome avatar, by the way.
